after finishing volume 2, it's not impossible that steve is wearing billy's jacket.

even though the lighting is off in pictures, it's the same colour. the pockets are the same, the sleeves are the same, the buttons and zips and shoulder straps are in the same place; the only difference is the patches.

so steve starts wearing the jacket in the rv after they've been to the weapons store. he walks around the weapons store and the whole of the trailer park in the denim vest. it's only when they stop to prepare for battle, and goes rooting for clothes in the rv, that he finds the jacket. what are the chances that the hick who lived in the trailer had this jacket? sure, it's got patches on it that billy's didn't have, but hear me out.

billy died last year and maybe, when max and her mom moved, they just took everything to the trailer park, and all of billy and neil's stuff they just left out front. the guy who owns the rv came and took a load of it.

so when steve's in the back of the rv, looking for a change of clothes, he finds the jacket. and he recognises it. he knows that was billy's. if he had the time, he'd rip the patches off. but he doesn't. so he dons the jacket.

So I saw this post and well.

Neil decided to sell Billy's stuff after he died. Cause he doesn't wanna see anything about him anymore. Max call Steve and told him about it. Told him she doesn't want them gone, told him that little box of clothes are the only remembrance after Billy, crying, begging for him to do something. She wants to keep Billy's pendant at least.

So Steve stop everything and run to the store, he goes in just after Neil and bough everything he left there. He gave Max the pendant but every other stuff Billy has was Steve's now. Cause he needed something, anything to remind Billy. Cause he can't sleep at night. He can't stop seeing Billy in his dreams. He can't stop remembering Billy's face before dying.

He miss him, every living second. So he sleeps with Billy's clothes now, calming himself with Billy's smell. Hugging them at night, crying all by himself. But he can't stop missing him. So he wears them in days too. Just to be close to Billy again. Just to feel him.

no because GUYS, it’s the same jacket. like, look closely. the buttons. the strap on the shoulder. it’s the same jacket. this just really solidifies that theory that neil left all of billy’s clothes to a thrift store where they would continue to be cycled through owners (definitely makes sense some old army vet would get it and add patches) until steve himself picked it up :(

Steve passed on most of his pants and shirts because they looked a little small…but he paused at the brown leather jacket.

The leather jacket fit him. And yeah, it smelled like cigarettes, and cologne, and hairspray, and weed, and one unforgettable night at the quarry that they never talked about afterward.

…And goddamnit, if he didn’t miss Billy Hargrove.

The jacket was like armour, passed down from Billy. It hadn’t always worked to protect Billy from everything, but it still made Steve feel stronger somehow.

So Steve took the jacket. And he hung it up in his closet.

So he had Billy when he needed him.

List of actors the stranger things fandom are cancelling for stupid reasons

Dacre Montgomery for relating to a character that he basically wrote and for standing up for victims of abuse

Grace Van Dien for not shipping Steddie enough?/ being a barrier for Steddie getting together apparently (neither Steddie or Hellcheer is gonna be canon because Chrissy and Eddie are dead remember- hellcheer poses literally zero threat and the duffers are homophobic anyway) for just existing as a woman

Eduardo Franco apparently just for existing? Like there are genuinely antis of him and I literally can’t figure out a reason that is that isn’t just fandom racism

Joe Keery because people are only now finding out that he liked Billy as a character and enjoyed working with Dacre on set as if he hadn’t been saying that literally from series 2

But we still aren’t holding the duffers accountable for creating a toxic workplace environment, calling actors fat, forcing so many cast members to relive generational or personal trauma, adding to stigma against abuse victims and trying to create an AIRBNB in a death camp site? Seems like they’re more the problem than Dacre, Grace, Eduardo and Joe tbh.
