Some folks were analyzing and curiously schminkin' about the meaning behind Patchwork Doorstop Paranoia Daydream, and I like yapping, so I thought I'd throw my response over here as a lil treat for the Tumblrites.
"'Patchwork'... ...relating to the sporadic and patchy nature of the songs - not initially intended to be part of an Album, pieced together for one later.
'Doorstop'... ...to me it is more about my work ethos and how I've been producing/releasing music for the past few years now. I have a slight obsession with momentum and keeping pace, which is reflected in my typical schedule of releasing a new song every 2 - 3 weeks, with some exceptions. That's ultimately been very beneficial for me, both mentally and tangibly, but it has its own unique detriments and drawbacks, and it's something I've been reflecting upon recently.
'Paranoia' is more broad. I'm a fairly paranoid individual overall, but especially in my art. I won't divulge any real specifics, that's for me to know and process.
And finally, 'Daydream' is a unique lil thing. It's partly used to simply distinguish the _Album_ from the _Song_, but is mostly more specific. The song itself is a reflection of the album, in a more compact and individual form. It's sporadic and self-referential (a handful of lyrics are direct references to other songs in the album - see if you can spot them!) and to me, feels like an almost absent "Daydream" of the album on the whole.
What this all means for y'all who are listening isn't for me to decide, and is something I wouldn't tell you even if I knew. It's a time of reflection and contemplation for me at the moment. We'll see the product of that - whatever it is - in due time.
