i cannot emphasise enough how much you need to create something. anything. it doesn't matter if you suck. you don't need to monetise it, or make it your career. you can restart an old hobby; you can start from scratch. it doesn't matter. you just need to hold something and be able to say "i did that". baking, drawing, painting, writing, coding, crafts, whatever. make something ! you cannot have all your hobbies be a form of consumption. it's fun, it's great in its own right. but the single best action to make yourself feel better, to calm your mind, to gain self esteem, is to Create

basma ghalayini, from the introduction to palestine +100: stories from a century after the nabka
Israel invaded and took Palestinian lives for years without anyone flinching an eye. Now that Palestinians have retaliated (at a much smaller magnitude), everyone’s suddenly a peace lover and thinks it is a violation of human rights. Sheer Hypocrisy.
The Israeli state's response to this uprising will be devastating and barbaric. But life as it is now for Palestinians is one of degradation, exile, and murder at the hands of a merciless colonial system. They have chosen to grasp at freedom while they still have a chance, desperate though it may be. Forget the hypocrisy and moral cowardice of those who would deny the Palestinians their lawful right of resistance; the people of Palestine deserve our unwavering support and solidarity.
Take care of your prayer because one of them will be the last.

May Allah's mercy embrace those affected by the earthquake in Morocco, and may He grant them strength, patience, and a swift recovery.
