the color of trees

clouds and how they look different throughout the day

the different colors the mornings can have. sometimes it's an orange hue and sometimes pink and sometimes it's too misty to tell

pretty color schemes in random places (the trees and your neighbors wooden patio and the color of their car)

the states of the vehicles passing you by, dents and scratches and the different trinkets suspended from their rearview mirrors

the sound of silence

the shadows the lights cast in your home, like how sunset looks different than sunrise, and the shadows the sun casts look different than those of your lamps and candles

pretty details in buildings and houses like certain types of windows or doorknobs or archways

the movement of things in the wind. flags, leaves, flowers, people's hair and coats

Focusing your attention on things like this is a grounding technique. Gets you out of your head and into the moment.

Loid is great in a lot of ways that Yor isn’t but what Loid is lacking is where Yor excels at: emotional awareness. I guess this stems from the fact that Loid didn’t have a family growing up while Yor still had a younger brother to take care of so her needs for an emotional bond was still fulfilled. Yor acknowledges that she agreed to this fake family but she takes this opportunity to be a real mother to Anya. She had probably given up having a family of her own when she decided to become an assassin but here she’s opening up that possibility again. While Loid keeps telling himself, “This is for the mission, this is for the mission,” not realizing that what he gave up to be a spy is what he had only suppressed and longs for the most. He could be like, “hey after this mission, maybe I’ll adopt her for real.” He doesn’t realize that even though this is all for the success of Operation Strix, the feelings are real; he does have a genuine connection with Anya that urges him to protect her and encourage her to be the best version of herself, just like all fathers do. Maybe other than lack of self awareness he could be in denial or just won’t allow himself to even consider adopting Anya for real because his job involves a lot of dangerous missions that could put her in danger. And if that were to happen, then he would negate the reason why he became a spy in the first place.
