im not meant to be loved
I look in my crystal ball
And see nothing
I quietly wish I had it all
Or at least something
While the short waves
Says chaos surounds us
I don't hear a thing
It's all so quiet in Brooklyn

You remind me of the babe! What babe? Babe with the power! What power? Power of voodoo! Who do? You do! Do what? Remind me of the babe!

This is still the biggest mood tbh
let’s destroy the idea that “evildoers look evil” especially when it comes to abusers.
oftentimes, people who hurt others don’t look “evil”. they look “normal” and no one ever suspects them of being capable of abusing someone. but that doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t do it. in fact, many abusers rely on the fact that they look and act “normal” around others to hide the fact that they’re abusing someone.
but let me reiterate this: abusers don’t look like horrible monstrous people. they look like anyone else. they may even act like any other non-abuser a lot of the time. the difference is how they treat people behind closed doors and how they treat people when they’re upset.
this is also why society is so reluctant to use the word “abusive” to talk about abusers. we’re all so conditioned to think that abusers look evil and are malicious and clearly abusive (which some are!) that when things like emotional abuse or the “they didn’t mean to” excuse come around no one is willing to call emotional abusers or “they didn’t mean to” abusers abusive. but emotional abuse IS abuse. and just because they didn’t mean to hurt you doesn’t mean they aren’t abusive/they didn’t hurt you.
