We could all be independent from our family and live on our own, but the courage to deal with the ugliness of life and face it alone will set us apart from the rest. More than our academic degree, it is courage that takes us farther from where we had started.
Natalie Portman as the 12-year-old Mathilda on her film debut Léon: The Professional (1994) with Jean Reno and Gary Oldman.
Léon loved Mathilda, but not romantically.
No more environmentalism-clout chase with all else already being said, nothing has been done. We need to save ourselves from ourselves. There is no planet B, planet Mars remains uninhabitable, and terraforming Mars will never happen in our lifetime. The Earth is better off without us.

Leni symbolizes light as we journey into a dark cave. She brings hope that we could have a better tomorrow. Her approach is inclusivity: no one is left behind. All walks of life celebrates not just Leni as potential great leader, but also the culture that stemmed from eagerness to have a better society.
The Philippines should decide if it will succumb into its dark past, or welcome a pink beginning out of dreary experience. Let Leni Lead PH2022. Let Marcos Jr. rot in jail and in drug rehab center.
We always assume what the truth should be when we know for a fact that it is difficult and almost impossible to know. When we make mistakes, most of them are not out of inadvertence. We tend to feel self-induced guilt and our standard of morality suddenly is in ascension. "I know what is right and wrong," you say, "so I did wrong to know what is right and the truth."
Our culture says so, as we fetishize self-flagellation and the idea of atonement, as if it preserves our sanity. We are doomed if the all these things I say are right.
There is no absolute truth and in case there is one, we would all be on the verge of annihilation. For the truth is hatred and love, chaos and peace, black, white, and all in betweens, and all in its extremes.
Does soul exist? The burden of proof lies on those who claim soul exists. What are the factors contributing to the conclusion that soul exists?
A Day and a Bucket of Gloom
He knocks underneath my bed
at night
And I pretend to be blind
And unthaw
The spider crawls craving
A fresh flesh
Where his nails marks
From a deep scratch of desire
Greedy thirst for blood
He hands can extended
from corner to corner
Wind symphonied death
So I digressed and saw colors
Were red, blue, and gray
I'll touch the clouds
Devoid of purpose, birds and stars
Every day, every morning
Endless bucket the pours
And its gloom
Never goes away

Bonfired
Mixed tape of silence
while the wave and the wind
sing duets in perfect a tune
Ashy air, a smoked one
and one that's remembering
Cold air drapes over your skin
Stars on the shoreline
That abridge huge waves
Suspended, controlled, and moderated.

Here’s a show for you… EP 2: Philippines: The Country of Social Media episode of Nas Talks
Almost half of the Philippine population are logged in to Facebook — that's 50 million people! What's crazier is that they spend 10 hours a
WILL DASOVITCH IS A DORMANT NEWS CHANNEL
You can categorize your content as happy but you refuse to go over politics and news because they are sad? How do you draw a demarcation line between happy and sad, then?
Nas is friendly and very intelligent, in opposite to Will Dasovitch, who is a total idiot juicing money from his viewers (me, never included). Now I wonder what his contents look like. Nas sadly had the wrong person to talk to about intellectual matters. And Will thought that the entirety of the podcast was about him, like a shallow interview of Boy Abunda.
You can tell how disappointed Nas was at the end of the podcast, but he was still being nice about it.
WHAT IS DEVCOM
DevCom in UP Los Baños Laguna, Philippines
Dr. Quebral presented the field of study in 1971 as, "the art and science of human communication linked to a society's planned transformation from a state of poverty to one of dynamic socio-economic growth that makes for greater equity and the larger unfolding of individual potential."
In 2002, it was re-defined as, "the art and science of human communication linked to a society’s planned transformation from a state of poverty to one of dynamic socio-economic growth that makes for greater equity and the larger unfolding of individual potential."
In 2012, DevCom was re-defined again as, "the science of human communication linked to the transitioning of communities from poverty in all its forms to a dynamic, overall growth that fosters equity and the unfolding of individual potential."
Apparently, you can see above that DevCom has multiple definitions. However, the ideas attached to it remain the same -- they aim to improve people's lives.
In a 2011 speech in London, Dr. Quebral emphasized the transition of DevCom's definition as seemingly prophetic since she had written DevCom Experience in the 1980s and said that, "The concept [development communication] has not been static."
She also added that, "Sometimes it is praised or criticized on grounds no longer germane -- if they ever were. In the '90s and through the century just around the corner, it will probably continue to adapt as any dynamic organism will."

To conclude this post, I want to leave a quotation from Dr. Nora C Quebral to serve as inspiration to DevCom students and DevCom practitioners.
"Development communication has gone by some other tag in the past and may be called differently in the future. Its present name could go out of fashion after a while. Not likely to disappear, though, is the idea that underlies it: that the art of [human] communication, infused by social science principles, can be consciously directed towards improving people's lives. This is the essence of development communication, regardless of how it is labeled or what else may be imputed to it."

Four corners.
A swarm of emotions clad in grey tears.
Dead end.
Screams of terror echo off the wall.
Bed bugs.
Broken sleep breaks into the frail room.
Stealth intrusion.
A sneak-peaking death under my bed.
