i like fujoshi jokes primarily because they're funny (which i think is a good reason to like a joke), but also because i like the sense of community i get from them. like, if i earnestpost about a very basic concept for a sec, it's really nice to have a very tangible reminder that women's sexuality isn't a completely foreign alien object. every now and then i remember that comment stephen fry made about how queer women never developed a cruising culture because there's a fundamental, temperamental difference between men and women, or i think about the somerton-esque sentiment that women getting turned on by two men kissing is a form of fetishisation, and it makes me sad that there's this tendency to reify the idea of Men's Sexuality and Women's Sexuality, and to police the border in between. we are comrades in the field of men kissing each other. handshake meme, things of this nature.
