Little did Aurelia know just how much of Hogwarts Remus knew about. There was no hiding spot he didn’t already know about, there was not a single nook or cranny that he and his friends hadn’t already explored. He would love to take Aurelia and share all of his knowledge of the castle, he knew she would keep the secret places secret. But it was much too late for it now, if only they had this conversation a few years prior. “I do make a mean polyjuice potion,” Remus replied simply with a chuckle, “If only it were that easy, hmm?” Perhaps one day, when this was all done and over with, Remus would return to Hogwarts as a professor. It was somewhat of a dream of his, to teach, but he wasn’t sure how welcome a werewolf would be as part of the staff at Hogwarts.
A wide grin spread across his lips, Aurelia seemed to have a bit more of a mischievous side to her than he thought. “That would be hilarious,” He said, mostly to himself as his mind began to drift off to all the scandalous rumors he could start about the Durmstrang boys. “Why don’t we hang out more often?” Remus asked suddenly, “Honestly, you’re such a gem. We definitely should hang out more.” He was being entirely truthful, he did enjoy spending time with her. And if it also meant he would get to see more creatures like the little Niffler in her hands, well that was just a bonus. “Oh, don’t worry, I’m great with parents.” Remus laughed softly, “Oh, no, Mr. and Mrs. Scamander! Aurelia definitely didn’t have Percy here with her today. She’s much more responsible than that.” He mocked with a chuckle, reaching his hands out to take the little guy out of her hands. “Don’t worry, I won’t let him out of my sight. I know they can be tricky, I’ll keep a good grip on him.” Honestly, creatures had never been the most interesting subject to him, but there was just something about Nifflers he loved so much.
“Well I’m glad one of us does. I tried brewing one once and it turned out...very bizarre. I had green fingertips for months afterwards. I’m afraid I’m not very good at potions. They always have to be so precise and perfect and I don’t have much patience for them either,” she shook her head, smiling at the memory. “If only,” she said softly. “I’m sure Mrs. Norris would tell on us. She would be able to tell. She’s such a smart girl.”
Aurelia smiled slightly to herself, looking down at the ground. She wasn’t always good with taking compliments, even though she did appreciate hearing them. “I would like that. Afraid I got a bit carried away with work when I graduated. But let me know and I’ll always make time for you. Or you could stop by the office. An extra pair of hands never hurts anything,” she said honestly. She like Remus and enjoyed the idea of spending time with him probably more than she would admit out loud. She giggled at him, shaking her head. “That wouldn’t be suspicious at all. You sound like granddad when he’s been caught bringing home another creature when he promised grandma he wouldn’t.” She grinned. “They’re a handful. But a cute handful. You can’t deny that at least. Don’t tell any of the others, but I think the nifflers are among the cutest creatures.”
