Finished a piece I've been working on for 9 months (albeit with several months in there that I didn't work on it at all because I was knitting sweaters over the winter)

Adapted from a pattern I found in the antique pattern library which was first published in a Parisian magazine in 1908. It measures about 56cm x 9.5cm.

Made my own pattern and decided to make a few metres (about 5) until I made the calculations.

One ribbon inner part takes about 36mins and it's only 2,5cm (1") long. That means for 5 metres it would take about 120 h. uhhhh, maybe not. lol.

This also applies to women who complain about feminism requiring them to work, rather than being ‘ladies of leisure’. Women equivalent to them in the past always worked - who do they think were the maids, housekeepers, cooks, nannies, wet nurses, governesses, washerwomen, spinners, weavers, seamstresses, nurses, midwives, etc - and today’s equivalent of the past’s ladies of leisure can afford to be ladies of leisure now. Feminism fought for women’s work to be acknowledged, valued, and fairly paid, and that fight is still ongoing.
