Honestly. The things people would do here for a cup of tea.
The polar bear was in a café, though he was more interested in the coffee than the tea. But someone was raising a ruckus, all because an order was supposedly wrong. He couldn't help watching the spectacle for a few moments, before, coffee in hand, Bark walked over and took one of the seats by the window.
The weather was rainy, definitely his kind of day.
Rain brought a relief from warm temperatures. Of course, it was only after he'd seated himself that he realized he'd chosen the wrong place to sit. Social skills weren't exactly his best ability, so sitting across from someone could have been a really awkward experience, especially if they didn't know sign language.
All he could do was stare at the man, eyes slightly widened, mouth, for the moment, covered by his scarf.

Figures he'd get paired up with someone so boastful. But they complimented each other, in Bark's modesty of his own incredible strength. He only did the intimidation tactics to those he was hired to fight, not to those he was hired to work with. That was why it just left him with his eyebrow riased.
One thing Bark was: A good listener.
He'd wait patiently, to get a proper briefing on the mission he'd be accompanying on. As long as he got paid, Bark really couldn't have cared less about what he had to do. Money was important in these southern regions. Almost amusing, how he was certain there would be a total struggle for anyone around here if they tried to live out in the ice fields, as he had for all those years.
Still, his attention was unwavering. He could use some good practice, it had been a while since he'd fought in an underground tournament.

Now was about the time temperatures were temperate, if not on the warm side. He could handle this heat better than he could when it was full out summer, and though he was no gardener, he did enjoy the presence of flowers. Admittedly, he was a bit fearful of touching them, that they'd be destroyed by his pure strength.
Ears twitch. Footsteps. The polar bear quickly turns, though on his face, neutrality. He wasn't afraid of strangers, he was one of the most physically powerful beings on the planet. He wasn't stupid, either, he knew strength alone wasn't always enough.
Raising a hand in greeting, he surveyed that of who was in front of him. While they may not have looked like an initial threat, he'd remain on guard. Sometimes the most powerful punches came from the most unexpected places. He'd been reading, which lead to him bookmarking his book, and setting it down.
And he signed, 'Hello'.

I know its been almost a year, but just curious: Would anyone be particularly interested in me doing anything with this blog? I do miss the muse, but due to ooc reasons I haven't been able to bring myself to write him in years. Part of me wants to try again, but first I have to know if there'd be interest.
"Ah, it is you! My friend who I paid for sometimes! It has been a while since we last saw one another, I hope this day is treating you well?"
Karik had encountered this bear before sometime ago. The knight had paid this bear to basically stand in the same room as him. Since Bark never talked it was the closest thing to a friendly interaction Karik tended to have. Karik didn't have any friends, he tended to be too much of a workaholic to form lasting bonds with people. He also couldn't be friends with his underlings since that would make him look weak. So, Karik had tried to cure the loneliness he felt with money. They never played games since Karik never knew how to play.
"I missed you a great deal, I know we only stayed in the same room many times...in silence...but I felt very happy you were there."
As always, he would be at service.
It was easy money. In truth, he'd be lying if he didn't say he enjoyed the time, as well. After a lifetime of silence, hearing someone go on about things they cared about was endearing. Being the silent type he was, Bark had never really spoken in those situations. He was selectively mute, but he could communicate with sign language pretty easily.
Which is why he gives a little smile, and a thumbs up, as to show that he, in spite of everything, did care. Not something you'd see from this polar bear very often. It was also his way of saying, that he'd been just fine. Almost happier, now that there was a chill in the air, rather than the heat of summer.
Then, he points to Karik. His way of asking how the other had been doing. Hopefully just as well, but the bear was no clairvoyant. He'd patiently await an answer, a curious frown upon his face. He figured, that being a soldier was no easy task. Bark took orders from employers, but he couldn't imagine working under the same person all the time.
'You okay?'
He signed.

Just another travel destination.
The polar bear was definitely out of his element in a place like this, but that wasn't going to stop him from exploring, and learning what the world had to offer. Long hair tied back in his signature ponytail, there was curiosity in his eyes. If he found himself needing money, he'd simply do some work.
Despite his large size, he steps lightly. It was important to be quiet in his line of work, sort of a habit he'd picked up over the past few years. But it would seem that he didn't step lightly enough, as he notices another looking at him. Bark stops, giving off a wave with one of his mittens. If communication was needed, he'd take it off so he could speak sign language.
Whoever it was, maybe they could teach him a little more about this location.
"Uh... すみません、わかりますか？(Excuse me, do you understand me?)" Tadano asked as he looked up at Bark.
"I was just asking you if you would like to participate at my company as a security guard? Maybe try for a day? I mean, the building would need a new one because the last one had important things to attend and... uh, I don't know! I saw you here on your own and you are big, aren't you?" the donkey said, smiling and looking up at the bear.
He had a basic understanding of a lot of languages, but if they were going to communicate, there was one he'd have to question about himself.
[That depends. Can you understand me?]
Spoken in sign language. That was his preferred method of conducting business. Speaking with his voice was only done when he had no other options. Didn't like it. People who used their voice were subject to getting treated badly.
Was he really being asked to do security, simply because of his size? Smart Donkey. This bear could topple a building with one punch, no one would make better security. There's a shrug of his shoulders, before he nods in agreement. Then he holds up three fingers, and then, a thumbs up.
His way of saying he'd work for three days.

He had some run ins with this guy before. Or at least, an alternate version of him. The bear could distinctly tell that this one was different from the last he'd dealt with, but that wasn't going to change his guard. Those who fought for their ideals of justice would never understand why he did what he did.
Bark was a morally gray person. And not generally nice.
For the moment, he just stares. What was a Sonic doing here, anyway? He'd just finished his daily strength training, now he was relaxing. Bark had already given his hair a good wash in a nearby lake, but it was down, which was an uncommon hairstyle for him. Life was just easier when you put your hair in a ponytail.
For now, he'd keep it at a stare. Maybe the hedgehog would leave on his own accord.

Why is the tiny little donkey talking to him?
People were generally afraid of him. He was big, and intimidating to the average person. Though his skill as a fighter wasn't as well known, not to the general public. People paid him to do things. Hurt people. Or sometimes it was as simple as being hired to paint a house.
Bark would take any job he got when he needed money.
To the significantly shorter, he stares. Bark had nothing to say about anything. He saw no reason to speak. He also wasn't used to someone being interested enough to stay through his silence.
How peculiar.

No, no. Not too much sugar.
The bear was basking in one of his guilty pleasures. Iced tea. During summer months like this, it could mean the difference between lying face first in the grass, and feeling comfortable enough to walk around the city. But he wasn't big on drinks that were too sugary. The closest he got was hot chocolate, which was good when it was nice and sweet.
Right now, he had important things to do. He's on the case for a wanted prisoner. The joys of being a mercenary, you could be either the good, or the bad guy. Whoever paid the most got the heavy labor.
Soon holding his drink in an enclosed cup, the big bear walks, stepping out of the store and into the heat of the sun. Yech. But he'd survive, he always did. Now was a time to be looking for clues, which was why he stopped the first man he saw, and held up a sheet of paper.
Which said, 'wanted'.
His way of asking if the man had seen this person.

In a matter of speaking, he's just chilling.
There are important things to do tomorrow, so he's going to spend today doing something a little more personal. Which was being seated under a tree, reading a book. What most interested him, were mystery novels, and that could help with his work as a mercenary. Pay attention to details.
Bark's ears were sharp. He could catch the sound of someone walking by.
Lifting his head from his book, there's a steady frown across the bear's face. An eyebrow is raised, he didn't often see humans around here. Though to be fair, 'around here' wasn't a place he knew all that well. He was always off, exploring, adventuring, doing mercenary work on the side when he needed money.
And to this person, he did nothing but stare. Not bothered, maybe a little curious, but silent, nonetheless.
