I’ve gotten a few questions asking how to do the ‘double exposure’ effect I used in this photoset. It’s super easy, and can literally be done in under ten layers, depending on how elaborate you want to be. 

To start off with, double exposure is one of my favorite photography and film tricks. If you’ve never seen it done, check out a lot of gorgeous examples here and be inspired. One of my favorite ways of using double exposure is taking a portrait and overlaying it with trees, so I wanted to do that for my Doctor Who artwork.

lydsofrp presents: character psd #1 - instapersonal

Alright, I’ve been wanting to start doing character psds for a little while, so here’s my attempt! This is a psd based off of instagram, as you can probably tell. I figure you can use these three in any combination you want, and that each one gives a little information about the character. #1 and 3 are obviously pretty straightforward, but I felt like #2 could also give you an idea of some connections (although if you have gifs that could also illustrate that, you could make the same point with one.) A couple specs are below.

#1:

The post, follower count and following count are editable and can be found in the folder labeled text.

the icon uses a clipping mask.to change the icon, drag the picture of your choice (50x50) to directly above the layer titled ellipse 2 in the icon folder.

all gifs and pictures are 75x75, except for the bottom row, which is 75x38.

the description must be no longer than a line.

#2:

likes count is editable and found inside the text folder.

icon uses a clipping mask as well (see #1) and picture must be 25x25.

Fonts used are Arial (and Billabong in #3,) and the downloads for the psds can be found here.
