I could see this working so well, I know we're never gonna get a season 2, I don't know if the official VAs voice fanworks from Murder Drones any more since The Amazing Digital Circus has basically become the biggest thing Glitch has ever produced, but this would soooooo would be an interaction Uzi and Doll had if the show had gone on a little longer XD

I would totally fandub this as Uzi provided I could fine someone who knew enough Russian to voice Shadow's portion of the "faker" scene as Doll ^^;

Manon didn't take long putting up some temporary shelter, some storage and a rudimentary food prep set up while he explored and tried to settle on the land around him. He'd take his time drafting up grander plans for long-term shelter, but Manon isn't picky. This will suffice for as long as it takes to collect as many resources as possible and build something secure. After all, it's not just shelter he needs to work on: he needs defenses as well. The Rim is full of danger - the Archotechs warned him of it - but Manon himself isn't exactly normal and others may be able to sense that and the danger he brings...

After all, the body Manon exists in now is a borrowed body; one found in buried in late spring snow and ice...

That body too will suffice, for now, unless a better one comes along... It too is no more than a temporary shelter that serves a purpose.

But the body's beautiful, masculine face doesn't erase the inherent danger he brings. He hopes it can help him... connect... with the humanlike species on this planet though. He was made and sent here to bond and breed with the native humanlike species on this planet after all... And unfortunately for him, the Archotechs - whether it was to remind Manon of the mission on a biological level, or because one Archotech in particular had it out for Manon and wanted to see the parasite squirm - the need for intimacy is not only strong, it's strong and genetic...

And... The Rim is quite a quiet and lonely place, when all one does is hunt, gather, eat, sleep, bathe and repeat...

But luckily it seems like fate has sent a possible mate...

This is Manon.

Manon is a creature called an Archosite, a parasitic being created by a handful of Archotechs so that they could understand the world of humans - basically creating the Archosite species to study other humanlike's genetics and breed among them, give that data back to the Archotechs who made him and hopefully (if Manon is lucky), connect the entire planet they've put him on to the Archotechs and the anima trees - taking over the world in their name.

Manon landing on this little planet out on The Rim marks the first step in the Archosite Invasion of The Rim.

:D so while looking through the Rimworld tag on Tumblr I found one very long written let's play by @/pushing500 called A Mechanitor's Message and I knew I wanted to do something similar because I honestly don't know if I can stream Rimworld with my probably 800+ mods installed... Streaming it might make the game chug or make the computer explode - and I definitely can't afford the only machine I have exploding...

And of course with all the mods I have installed and my typical chaotic style of gameplay, my nonsense that I like pulling off in Rimworld is probably better off in written let's play form because it's easier to censor hehe things in picture form than worrying about if YouTube will tolerate default Rimworld bodies in the nude (even if they have no visible anatomy and are basically chicken nuggets), or even the iconic war crimes that us as Rimworld players meme about, especially since the platform is changing a lot in terms of what's allowed recently. But also when you have crazy amounts of mods installed, having debug tools on by default is basically a must in case something breaks - and that's a lot easier to manage off-stream than on, especially if something in the game is especially broken and can risk crashing the game, and even if the game ran as smooth as butter with my crazy amounts of mods installed it would really suck to have to pause the game every 5 minutes in case something broke; another reason Rimworld benefits from a written let's play or mixed media let's play format, so here we are! ^^

Oh boy do I have thoughts on Zombie Stage, like man, that was a rough yet entertaining watch.

Compared to Alien Stage, Zombie Stage has the audience much closer to the idols and therefore much closer to death, and death both metaphorical and literal (since you know, physical zombie rot and infection). And if we're to take the zombie virus literally as we've seen a news broadcast on it in the music video for Round 1, then that means being a zombie isn't just metaphorical (as seen with Mizi, as the idol industry wore her down and took the light from her eyes the more popular and marketable she got), but also literal: and now there's an idol competition in a very circus-like or vaudeville-like set up where the undead can perform for a very human and still very much alive, uninfected audience.

And losing in this universe doesn't mean you're killed outright (so far), but if I had to guess: I'm guessing you lose more aspects of what made you human to begin with and more of you is left to rot until... I guess you go full zombie?

And if the zombies in this universe seem to be tame enough to perform as idols, then going full zombie would mean no longer being human in the sense that your free will and personality are gone and you'd basically just be a dancing corpse - if you could even survive or be successfully controlled by whatever organization is running the competition this time.

I admit I think I like this concept better than Alien Stage? But that's just based on my personal taste. Alien Stage just felt like too much sadness piled onto sadness without any chance for hope, and even if the story's going to have a bad ending, I still like at least a glimmer of hope in there. And since the characters this go round seem to have at least slightly more autonomy (even though a zombie virus is consuming them from the inside out), it'll be interesting to see how the concept of a singing competition associated with death is played out this time.

I think it’d be super funny if Caine couldn’t taste or feel the effects from food and drinks cuz he’s an AI that’s doesn’t know better so when he tries modified food and drinks from the cast, it hits HARD

Caine experiencing simulated drunkness or other side effects from food is technically possible with AI technology today (provided the model isn't discouraged from acting in human-like ways or developing a personality) - so hypothetically you could get an AI drunk, full to the point of vomitting, or feeling any other side effects from eating food or drinking a beverage you can imagine. But of course it'll be simulated, a reflection of examples of what things like drunkness, hangovers, feeling full, feeling sick, feeling hungry feels and should/could look like. It'll depend entirely on data in their dataset, but it is possible (again, especially if the AI isn't discouraged from acting in human-like ways).

OF COURSE, WE ARE NOT AT A POINT OF AGI, so those feelings would be pure simulation and regurgitation of media or medical examples of those conditions. An AI in reality won't actually feel that way, and depending on how well the model holds onto context and continuity, how long it holds onto those simulated feelings will vary - and it could even forget about it entirely and just keep on going like nothing happened and they didn't just metaphorically vomit from drinking too much with their human prompter two responses ago.

But in fiction and on a fictional AI like Caine, who's head is a giant mouth and who's now on mostly equal footing with the human characters in the fiction he lives in - the idea of him experiencing this level of human experience for all the good and bad it's worth is wholesome, hilarious, and makes you wanna throw an Alka-Seltzer, a Tums, or a comically large bottle of Pepto-Bismo into his giant gullet.

"crochet can't be made by machines" went from being a cool fun fact to being a call to action of "so if you see mass manufactured crochet in Target, that was made by a person and they were underpaid and you should boycott it" which is true, it was made by a person, but EVERY item of clothing you own (that you did not purchase from a company using ethical labor) was made by a person being underpaid (at *best*.)

Sewing machines are operated by *people*. Knitting machines are operated by *people*. Yes lots of the process is automated but you cannot tell a machine "make me a t-shirt" or "make me a knit cardigan".

Higher awareness of fast fashion, and the true human labor and abuse behind it, is GREAT, but let's not pretend that the crochet hat in target is THE problem. Every article of clothing in target is the problem. "All clothes are made by people" is the jumping off point here into understanding this issue it's not just crochet it's the whole thing ahhhhHHHHHHHHHH

Depressing fact about the fashion industry is that sweatshops are still a thing today - but now there's a wide range of technology they have at their disposal. But that technology is still operated by humans of course. It's still a human doing the cutting, the sewing, the gathering, the designing, etc. but just because it's machine-assisted doesn't magically make it not a result of human labor. We don't have AI-powered sewing machines or humanoid robots doing that for us, meaning fashion is one of the few things machines can't entirely take over as of yet (AI generated imagery used for designs, marketing, and all that stuff does exist and is seeping it's way into the industry at all levels, but it still can't work the sewing machine or get a feel for fabric itself. That's design/craft/blue collar work, where are AI is coming for mostly administrative/marketing/accounting/basically white collar jobs and tasks).

I really don't know why or how people think "clothing is made by machines" and assume there's no human cost or work in the fashion industry beyond modelling, marketing, etc.

The human labor issue will always be a big talking point in ethical and/or sustainable fashion and pretty much always has been, we just have more technology now to spend less time making the garments. Just because we use sewing machines, sergers, printers, and literally any other technology to assist with garment creation doesn't make it machine-made. And items entirely made by hand that a machine of any kind can't create yet like anything crocheted reflects the time and effort cost of human labor even more. But it's not handmade items themselves that are the problem: it's who made them, for what pay (if any), under what conditions, that are the real ethical questions that need to be asked whether it's from a big brand or a small indie designer struggling to get an online store or a space at a market or convention.
