Noel: "Usually with the Boosh we write everything together; we don’t go away and write separately. It’s usually what comes out after we’re locked in a room, basically. It’s quite specific, quite idiosyncratic and quite weird, but it always comes out that way."

I've been lurking in the Realm of The Elderlings tags for years now and thought it was finally time to contribute to the love-fest that is @winterfest-gift-exchange-v2. What a lovely experience! I was so pleased to get assigned an Amber/Althea prompt (my favourite Liveship ladies). This scene shows Amber applying her talents in face-painting and tailoring to help Althea disguise herself as 'Athel' - hopefully conveying the intimacy of having someone do your makeup.

In a 2014 interview with ABC Sydney, Noel explained why euros are the currency in Boosh!

Noel: “In the Boosh, everything was euros. We never said pounds. It was like, we just slip that in there thinking no one would notice, but actually people really liked that. People would go, "why do you mainly say euros? What are you doing?" We were like, I dunno. It just felt more Booshy. It felt weird to talk about money in the Boosh because it didn’t feel like those two characters would ever need or have, or they just wouldn’t be interested in money. So there’s something about euros, it felt softer, felt quite soft.”
