Case in point for "things getting lost in fandom", if you only looked at fan content, you'd assume Prowl was a deadbeat dad whose a Jerk(tm) for the sole purpose of being a Jerk(tm) and flips tables all the time.

In reality, he's a victim of "multiple writers yank him around and won't keep his character arc consistent", along with being a well-intentioned extremist who, while not being ~nice~, often Has A Point Actually as well as having lost his home in the midst of a multi-millennia war along with being the victim of brainwashing/mind-control more than once and had his body messed with without his consent.
