ik people complain about the song choice during that one supergirl fight scene. But to me that was a reference to Kara's iPod that she used to drown out the earth sounds when she was first on earth. She was going back to her roots, to being good and protecting the innocent, to life on earth. THATS why its kinda silly and cringe imo

to me, it also represented how Ruthye was feeling in that moment. she was literally in the middle of all that chaos. yet despite all the destruction and violence, she knew she was going to be ok because Kara was there

I also really liked how this cover of the song sounded like a lot of the girly pop songs from the 2010s and just indie pop in general. It reminded me of the songs I would listen to growing up as a little girl in the 2010s. (side tangent i feel like Ruthye would totally listen to Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo)

It also kinda reflects the message of the movie, at least to me. Like yes shit sucks right now and you feel like crap, but trust me it will get better and don’t let those feelings consume you. YOU control your destiny and don’t let the thoughts of other and society bring you down.

Very intrigued but also confused. There’s a black hole cult thing which is very gross and weird. Everlight lady from season one is now a part of this cult. I really like how even thought Vox Machina saved the world, the people in the world still acknowledge that people still died and it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Percy and Vex were a delight to see and Vex is still just as much as a badass. Pike is going through it and I wish I could give her a hug. Grog is still Grog but seems weirdly mature? Maybe I spoke too soon who knows. Now for the next episode

KEYLETH MY GOAT IS BACK LETS GOOOO. Also Vax is dying. Also there was a weird man with the beat from last episode that like came out of the orb or something. Pretty interesting. Anyways, KEYLETH IS THE VOICE OF THE TEMPEST!!!! She’s such a baddie I love her she’s my favorite. Terry is pissing everyone off and I love how everyone who has met him so far is so fucking done with him. I do not know who the lady with the white hair is. I assume she is the leader of the weird cult. Also feel bad for the priest from the last episode who joined the cult. Even though this is a fantastical world with magic and what not, I like how somewhat realistic it is that this woman who had so much faith in this religion, started looking for alternatives to save her daughter, and how that would eventually lead her to this black hole cult (idk what to call it). Kinda like how many people IRL will join cults or start following institutions that don’t really want the best for them but they pray on these vulnerable people. Interesting, interesting.

Vox Machina is mostly back together but awkward as every. Keyleth doing Avatar Voice of the Tempest stuff is cool. Show them who’s boss my dude. Also the cult cares about the Matron for some reason? Idk how they didn’t know Vax was the new guy but guess they didn’t. Percy is warming up to Tary. Also Tary, lock the fuck in please save the fanfictions for later. Daddy Issues, YAY. That was a fun yet eiry episode. I don’t fully understand why Pike is not fully with the everlight. I remember last season she had that whole thing with the demon guy but I didn’t understand what was happening. If someone could explain to me why Pike gave up the everlight even thought it was such a huge thing back in season one that would be great. I loved seeing the gang, minus scanlan, back together. Tary overcoming and confronting his issues was great. Also the legally distinct deck of many things was awesome. Poor Percy tho. Also the whispered one is back yyyyaaaayyyyy. love that. sooooo much fun. I mean I kinda knew that’s what it was cuz I remember that from s1 but that’s about it. idk what else to say cuz i got busy half way through the episode. I am curious because i’ve never watched all of the playthroughs and streams of vox machina, so im very curious how accurate it is to the actual campaign. Onto episode 5 ig
