He wanted her to touch him again. It wasn’t fair, it wasn’t appropriate, but he wanted it. He also wanted it to matter to him that she’d used the word ‘boyfriend’ so casually but… well, that didn’t matter nearly as much as it should. It was, however, incredibly confusing. Was this her way of subtly telling him, too? He took a deep breath, eyes staring away from her resolutely as he connected his thoughts into something more wholesome, less chaotic. “Some men don’t know boundaries.” Unfortunately, Frank knew boundaries even when he didn’t like them. He looked over at her finally, the ghost of her touch at his throat. Whatever god was listening at that moment, they could go fuck themselves. “I’m glad you came out here.” Honesty. “This has certainly been… eye-opening."
Whatever which way he meant for eye-opening to mean, Avalon blinked it off, too busy staring out at the garden. It was an eye-full. The similarities in the two words- her thought and his verbalization- had her nodding her head in agreement. “It is, isn’t it?” Her gaze swept across the trimmed treeline and the manicured flowerbeds. It was all beautiful but nothing more so than the fountain. Cast in a golden light, there was no better word to describe it beyond heavenly. “Can I show you something?” Though she asked, Avalon was already started the walk towards the fountain, only glimpsing at Frank from the corner of her eye in those first few steps. Then her eyes did not stray from the cascading water and the way the lights’ reflection shimmered on the surface. “Georgie and I made so many wishes out here as kids; half those coins are probably mine.”
