Bookshelves of Mr. Ralfy Acuña
From Mr. Ralfy Acuna:
"I collect all sorts of books, but mostly novels, poems, plays, art books, works about history and music, and primary sources for works about the social and natural sciences. Most of them are used or new books purchased at 50 to 80 pct off, but the most valuable for me is Jung's Red Book, which is mentioned here:
https://www.philemonfoundation.org/publications/red_book
I'm currently looking for the second volume of Letters of the Great Artists, the other two volumes of Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archipelago, Dunn's edition of The Perfumed Garden, the Modern Library edition of Fowles' The Magus, the Twentieth-Century Classics edition of Abe's The Woman in the Dunes, The Way of Hermes (trans. Salaman and others), Tales of Hoffmann (Heritage Press), Reporting Vietnam (two volumes, Library of America), the Clay Sanskrit Library, and The Rienner Anthology of African Literature.
Paul Lorenzo (http://www.lorenzophotogallery.com) photographed the books and shelves, and Architect Wendell Florentin (0916-4922418) designed the shelves."

Moleskine Images from Peter Tan
From Peter Tan, "Three are moleskine while the other 2 are Front Notebook & an old diary. I am a 30 year old civil engineer working for a engineering design firm in Ortigas. My interests are photography, notebooks, books, pens, stamps, graphics, etc. I usually use Moleskine Square Notebooks, the lines help me in my work sketches & note alignment. I use the square skine for work drawings when in the field where you have to draw without rulers. As you can see the spines are the first to go in my moleskine. I tried other notebooks over the years but always buy a moleskine when I get the chance. The contents of my notebooks are like I said, work sketches, meeting schedules, reminders, contact information. If I have a nice family or travel photo then I just print these in 2R size & paste them on a page with some notes about the picture. After several years when you read the notebooks again, it is like a diary of sorts. I have a flickr account if you want to see some of my 'artsy' photography images."

Random Moleskine Drops
We left a Moleskine on a person's shortly unattended table at Starbucks TriNoma last Wednesday.
Did the same Thursday at Starbucks Podium.
We're dropping another soon! This is just a plain random act. Nothing more, nothing less.

Bookselling Regrets 01
One of the books I regret selling- Lustmord: The Writings & Artifacts of Murderers.
Sold it for P1,200.00 around 2005-6, was asking buyer if I can buy it back last year for P2,500.00 and well, no deal.
Famous Notebooks
1. Mark Twain - “He had his leather bound notebooks custom made according to his own design idea. Each page had a tab; once a page had been used, he would tear off its tab, allowing him to easily find the next blank page for his jottings”
2. Charles Darwin - “The notebooks were filled with memorandum to himself on things to look further into, questions he wanted to answer, scientific speculations, notes on the many books he was currently reading, natural observations, sketches, and lists of the books he had read and wanted to read. But the progression is far from orderly: the entries are chaotically arranged and wide-ranging; they jump from one scientific subject to the next and are interspersed with notes on correspondences and conversations. He would rest the notebook on his desk and write horizontally down the page with a pen, and, like Isaac Newton, he would sometimes start in from both ends of the notebook at once and work towards the middle.
3. Jack Kerouac - The notebook entry reads:
“Ginsberg — intelligent enuf, interested in the outward appearance & pose of great things, intelligent enuf to know where to find them, but once there he acts like Jerry Newman, the photographer anxious to be photographed photographing —— Ginsberg wants to run his hand up the backs of people, for this he gives and seldom takes — He is also a mental screwball
*(Tape recorder anxious to be tape recorded tape recording) (like Seymour Barab anxious to have his name in larger letters than Robert Louis Stevenson, like Steinberg & Verlaine Rimbaud Baudelaire”
4. Ernest Hemingway - The notebook entry reads:
“My name is Ernest Miller Hemingway
I was born on July 21, 1899
My favorite authors are Kipling, O. Henry and Steuart Edward White.
My favorite flower is lady slipper and tiger lily.
My favorite sports are trout fishing, hiking, shooting, football and boxing.
My favorite studies are English, zoology and chemistry.
I intend to travel and write.”

Words cannot describe how excited I was when I first heard about the Fashionary from my very good friend Valerie. I DESPERATELY NEEDED to have one! — I will never be fully contended with my life if I don’t have this kind of feeling! / LOL.
Anyway, being the lucky banana that I am, Jasper Ong...
