I sometimes wish they kept in the deleted scenes with humans on earth. Other humans there are clearly living under a very corrupt and oppressive dystopia that their ancestors made for them, and I’m sure they would betray the greedy mega corporations in a heartbeat if it meant getting some fresh air.

I've made posts before about how some of Lo'ak's traits that a lot of fans assume come from Jake are, I think, actually better attributed to Neytiri—namely being hot-headed/easily provoked and willing to throw hands immediately when upset.

But you wanna know a trait that I think Lo'ak absolutely does get from Jake (other than the obvious impulsiveness)?

Jake and Lo'ak are both sassy snarky little turdnuggets lol.

ever since hearing Lo'ak and Tsireya's conversation about the Tulkun way at the re-release today, I haven't been able to stop thinking about how Payakan's backstory may very well be subtle foreshadowing to Lo'ak's arc in A3....

...they certainly parallel each other at the very least... 😢

I am not one to criticize Jake's decision to flee to the reef. I think it was a very reasonable choice given the circumstances and do not at all hold it against him.

BUT.

I must admit that I still think of the Sully family as Forest people through and through, and I lowkey hope that at least Jake and Neytiri permanently return to the forest at the end of the series. I get that when they left for the reefs they probably intended to stay there indefinitely in order to hide from the RDA/recoms, but now that the RDA knows they're there anyways........yeah.

Now, I can totally understand Lo'ak staying at the reef permanently: he has Tsireya and Payakan there, and he'll be an adult by A5 and can make that decision. Kiri......idk, I feel like her future is still such a wild card at this point with her special abilities and all that it's really hard to say for her 😅

But I hope that at least Jake, Neytiri, and maybe Tuk can return to live in the forest 🥺

I remember that one guide book on the characters and world that mentioned Mo’at believing that one day her daughter would return home. I’ve been holding onto that hunt ever since lol.

He wanted them prepared to defend themselves just in case, sure, but out on the front lines as active soldiers? Not only did he not "force" them to participate, HE ACTIVELY WANTED THEM TO NOT PARTICIPATE even when they BEGGED to do so!

And even when he does give in and lets them participate, he wants them as FAR AWAY FROM THE ACTION AS POSSIBLE

Jake did not "force" Neteyam and Lo'ak to get involved in the war when ~all they wanted to do was be kids~ or w/e; they both got themselves involved against his orders, for better or for worse.

Also this just completely sidelines the fact that they wouldn’t even be “child soldiers” if the RDA didn’t literally kill of their people and land…? Like did people forget that bad guys tend to do that???

I was telling my best friend yesterday how I’d watch a whole movie about the 9 years of domestic and family bliss between Jake & Neytiri and their kids post Avatar, pre Way of Water. It could be 3 hours of just their happy family & I’d be in my seat giggling and kicking my feet
