When Song Exploder says "episode," they're talking about a podcast episode. Presumably, Jeremy Zuckerman will appear in a future episode of theirs to talk about the LoK Book 4 soundtrack.
That makes a lot of sense.

WHAT THE HELLLLLLL
KORRA SPECIAL?!?!?!?!
???????????????
Oh hey, looks like this guy’s a fan of the show! ;-)
i’m really glad korranation tagged this “fan edit” so i know they know bc sometimes i worry about them
Hi! I hope I don't come off as rude or as trying to send hate or anything, but something caught my eye in your reblog re kataang. I agreed with everything you said, but I just wanted to point out that you called Korra and Asami lesbians when they're bisexual. The only reason I bring it up is just bc of how rampant bi erasure is, so I hold pretty tightly to any and all bi representation. I know you didn't mean anything by it, just thought I'd share. Thanks for reading!
That's absolutely fine and I totally agree. They're bi, not lesbians - but what do you call that relationship? I've never seen a girl/girl relationship called a bisexual relationship, it's always just been labelled gay in my mind, much like if Korra dates a dude it's a straight relationship.
Hence why I called it a lesbian relationship cause it is only containing ladies - but perhaps there's a better word? I can see exactly why one shouldn't call it that though.
Sokka channelling his inner Kataang shipper.
Who did you kill for that URL??
Aang using his tongue in a variety of situations.
Guys Mike and Bryan have said on several occasions that they love Kataang. Kataang was the DNA of Avatar. When he said Kataang was “forced” I think he simply meant that Avatar was written so that it HAD to end with Kataang. Regardless of this, the chemistry and feelings between Aang and Katara were REAL. They aren’t regretting it.
Just cause I promised to address this, a few quotes to set things in perspective. First, and most importantly, he never mentions Kataang. He's talking about more generally about romance in Avatar. The notion that someone has to end up with someone, a.k.a the most common romantic trope of all time.
I totally agree with Bryan, the concept that every prominent character has to end up with someone (99% of time with someone of the opposite sex) gets old and can sometimes detract from the story. Bryan makes a really good point about subverting that trope (four for you, Asami and Korra!) and I'm totally with him.
Just to emphasise how much he is not hating on Kataang, a few other quotes:
Mike & Bryan: “Yeah, Aang-Katara, that romance. Some stuff developed along the way, and we’re glad some fans are more receptive to that element of the show, but it was in the DNA of the thing from the start.”
Mike and Bryan: “We felt like the story, in terms of the romance, was all about Aang and Katara. When they first meet, and they look into each others eyes when she finds him in the iceberg. For us it was about that story culminating.”
So in conclusion. Does Avatar fall into that romance trope? Yes. Is that a terrible thing? No. Does LOK do it better? Yes. No-one can argue with lesbians.
“When I discovered the Avatar, I knew he was the one who could save the world, but I had no idea how close we would become.”
I want to start watching the legend of korra, and I do know a lot about the last airbender, but i was just wonder do I have to watch tla before i watch tlok?
it’s not absolutely essential, but i would highly recommend it. the last airbender gives the context, siginficant emotional weight and a hell of a lot of world building to the legend of korra.
plus you would miss out on this:

So much for this being a neutral blog, huh?

Not Avatar related: Congrats on getting your dream job! If you don't mind my asking, what is it? I'm not looking for creepy specifics here, I'm just curious since before you've posted about the hard work you put into your degree in Political and Social Science. Again, congrats and I'm glad that your life has settled down :) And welcome back to the fandom!
You’ve got a very keen memory! I did indeed get a Politics degree (PPS to be exact!) and I’ve always been adamant I wanted to use what I’d learnt. Not an original thought, but loads of my friends ended up with jobs that had little to do with their original degrees.
Basically I managed to get into a career I’ve always been super intrigued by — political lobbying. Now before people freak out, I swear I’m not evil. Political lobbying in the UK is very different to the US, much stricter regulation and the company I work for doesn’t represent individual businesses. Because we represent literally tens of thousands of companies, our lobbying is all about finding the middle ground and what works best for the UK economy.
As a politics nerd it means I get to see behind closed doors, get a real good understanding of commercial dynamics and occasionally get to go to fancy parties!
