Just a slam poem I wrote a while back about some issues that upset me, I thought I would share due to the relevant issues of injustice that we see in our society today. We should be fighting for change!!

Profile
Hello, everyone. As I begin to write my non-fiction pieces, I would like to write a profile on someone I aspire to be, someone I look up too, and someone I want the rest of the world to know about. I have come up with a list of questions that I believe would help to make the profile engaging:
1. BASIC BIO INFO→ Example: Birthdate, Origins, Family, etc
2. Who has provided you with the most inspiration or guidance
3. What obstacles have you had to overcome to get to where you are today?
4. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement? What accomplishments are you most proud of?
5. What is your life motto? QUOTE
6. s there a moment in your life that you regret the most? Was there something you learned from that regret? (Make you a better person)
7. What is your biggest fear?
8. What is the best advice that you could give others? (what advice would you give your teenage self if you could talk to him/her?)
9. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
10. Are you satisfied with where you are in your life now?
Does this look like a good set of questions or is there anything else you would like to add? Leave me a comment below!
These all sound like really good and interesting questions. Especially when you ask things like “What do you consider your greatest achievement, what do you regret most, etc.”, things can get really personal. Another question I would consider adding is “Would you go back in your life and change anything you have done in the past? If yes, then what would you change?”Â
Slam Poetry - Can Your Hear Me?
Here’s the full version of the slam poetry I wrote! I renamed the title from “Inaudible” to “Can Your Hear Me?” as I feel that highlights the piece better.
I’d love to hear some feedback and constructive criticism. I’ve bolded the lines and verses that I feel is awkward and I’d appreciate comments on those.
Every time I try to speak,
My whole world becomes weak.

This is so powerful! Really highlights the struggle many people face when trying to share their opinions with others. Thanks for sharing!!
to the skies //
Your colours change as the day grows,
Sometimes they’re purple, and sometimes blue,
You ignite shooting stars and your beauty shows,
How you are the most infinite view
Even when you shower us with oceans,
Or when you sprinkle white flakes of snow
You are the purest, the most kindest, but also the most broken,
Because when your thunder breaks below
You roar with your mighty cry,
And sometimes you’ll be pink, and sometimes black,
Because your darkness covers the white clouds that go by
But after the night, you always go back,
To the morning where the sun shines
And the moon’s gone and the birds fly
You’ll illuminate your colours and lines
Because you are the holder, of the sky.

I loved the use of imagery throughout this poem, it was so good! Keep it up :)
Let Me Bloom
A poem I wrote earlier this year!
My Childhood Crush
just a lil ballad about a boy i had a crush on when i was 10, my neighbour. i miss the whole idea of being a child and being able to just hang out with all the other kids on the block and nothing else mattered.Â
This is adorable! Feels like your writing comes so effortlessly, nice work :)
Update!!
I am going to begin focusing more on poetry on my blog since that is the unit I have chosen to do for my magnum opus. I love writing poetry because it is so beautiful. Just a heads-up because that is most likely all you are going to see from my blog from now on!!
But I wonder if there comes a time when you miss me, because we often hope to have again only those things that once made us happy.

Loved this! It evoked such beautiful images.
Profile
In my writer’s craft class, we began to study non-fiction a couple weeks ago. I was very interested in profiles because it was nice to interview people and decide how you wanted to write about them. When I chose to write a profile, I decided to write about my mom and her move to Canada from Pakistan. My mom is my inspiration and it was very fun writing about her and getting to know about her move in more depth. She has always motivated me and I am super thankful for the role she has played in my life. Hope you all enjoy!!Â
make them proud
here is a spoken word piece that i’ve kept hidden from tumblr until now, hope you enjoy and don’t forget to leave some feedback!Â
ever since I was little, I knew what I wanted to be
or I knew what my parents wanted to see from me:
a doctor, a lawyer, an engineer or transactor;
but God forbid I became an actor.
and when I made the confession,
that writing was my obsession,
that maybe I could make it my profession,
my parents wore an expression, that accused me of a transgression.
had I done something so wrong?
i let that idea go,
a long time ago,
and searched for a second love,
a second choice.
i settled on law,
because my dad said I was quick to justify my flaws,
that I spoke out for my cause,
and when I wanted to, I could grow razor-sharp claws,
clenching my jaw- I pause.
is there a difference between being good at something, and enjoying it?
maybe I’ll make money, or have the nicest car,
but I know, deep down, this’ll leave a scar,
that I left a door ajar, that my dreams are lost far
away. In a place where they’ll have to stay,
the desires I’ll never be able to say.
but I’ll always wait for the day,
that my dreams will become a reality,
that I won’t play the lead in this culturally-pressured tragedy,
that my parents will be proud of me,
and say the words I never thought they’d speak:
yumna, you’ve become what we wanted to see you be.

This was written so beautifully! Thank you for sharing.Â
Forbidden ...
Just a small piece of writing from my short fiction story, Forbidden. It was very fun creating a piece of literature with a sci-fi theme. It was something I hadn’t done before, so it was definitely a challenge. It taught me how to expand on my imagination and taught me how to create a futuristic vibe. I would love to write something similar to this once again in the future! Let me know if you guys liked my style of writing :)
Beautiful quote!!!
Just some of my favourite novels.Â
“Reimagining what some of the Disney characters might look like in real life.” Created by Jirka Väätäinen.
It has rained so much this week. It is the perfect weather to curl up with some hot chocolate and a good book!Â
I am still so thankful to have read this. Such an amazing book with a profound meaning. It truly teaches you the value of honesty.
