Sorry if this is rude (feel free to ignore it) but I just wanted to say how much I absolutely adore Persuasion. Is there a timeline on when you think the next chapter might be ready?

I am such a huge fan of everything you’ve written, and that cliffhanger on chapter 40 was brilliant but also evil 😭

I will admit that it is an evil cliffhanger 😅 and that's why the next chapter has changed a couple of times. This fic was never gonna get a pure happy ending, but my attitude towards the ship has also changed over the last two to three years. I thought I could still align that with Persuasion, and I think I still can, but it's not making writing easier.

Thank you for enjoying the story so far. Right now I don't know when I will pick it up again, but it won't be before August this year.

What Makes This Event Special?

The Double Reverse Format

This event uses a unique artist-writer-artist structure, meaning artists create work at both the beginning AND end of the collaboration:

Artist creates initial artwork → 2. Writer creates a fic inspired by that art → 3. Artist creates second artwork inspired by the completed fic

This creates a full creative circle in which each team ends up with two pieces of art (one for two separate chapters) and one complete multichapter story.

What Makes This Event Even More Special?

Our Dick Grayson All-Ship-Friendly Reverse Big Bang focuses specifically on Dick Grayson and welcomes all ships and interpretations of the character. "All-ship-friendly" means we embrace:

Any romantic pairing (Jason/Dick, Dick/Kory, Slade/Dick, Wally/Dick, etc.

Rare pairs and polyamorous relationships (Grant/Dick/Joey/Slade, etc.)

Any rating 

Final Result

After approximately five months, each team produces:

Two complete pieces of artwork (one for each chapter)

One complete multichapter fic (10,000+ words)

Requirements

For Artists:

First piece: A fully composed artwork with clean lineart and fully-rendered colors (or equivalent polish in your preferred medium—digital, traditional, 3D art, etc.)

Second piece: Another entirely composed and rendered artwork inspired by the completed fic

For Writers:

A complete multichapter fic in English (10,000+ words total)

Must be posted to Archive of Our Own (AO3)

Must focus on Dick Grayson as a central character

FTH 2026 coming soon!

Yes, time once again to begin ramping up for our annual auction! This will be our tenth (!!!) year of mobilizing the power of fandom to make donations to vital progressive causes.

It's been a difficult year -- most of us are worn down and scared. But there have been some things worth celebrating, too. SCOTUS might be selling us out, but lower courts are consistently ruling against the Trump administration, throwing up meaningful roadblocks to his agenda and vendettas. In both New York City and Seattle, committed on-the-ground organizing helped two progressive mayoral candidates to victory, opening up new possibilities for those cities and inspiring progressives around the world. And all across the US -- especially in those cities that faced targeted violence from the government -- people stepped up to take care of their neighbors: with courage, love, community spirit, and in some cases a good dash of silliness.

In other words: it's not over yet. Not even close. We can't fix it by ourselves, but we can show up to support others who are doing the work, and show up for one another at the same time.

We'll be announcing the FTH 2026 auction calendar and supported orgs list soon. In the meantime, if there's a fandom you think we should be adding to our signup sheet this year, let us know in replies! (Yes, we have already added KPop Demon Hunters and Heated Rivalry.) As always, you'll be able to sign up in literally any fandom you want, but being listed in the dropdown menu makes the logistics of signing up a little smoother.
