alright guys, who wants to hear about my HP fanfiction-not-fanfiction? No one? Too bad, you’re hearing about it anyways

(even though the first chapter has barely been written lol)

it’s a fanfiction of a fanfiction because I hate JKR and refuse to use her canon, full credit to huntersg1rl on AO3 for inspiring me to make this, please go read their fanfic if you have the time, as I use their From The Dungeons series as a basis for the plot of my fanfic :)

i’ve also been doing extensive worldbuilding, basing wizarding culture and clothing off of the regency and victorian eras of british england (with some tweaks and fixes here and there).

But what is the actual plot? My fanfiction follows the young muggle-born Ceres Smith, turned Ceres Pendragon, as she is thrust into the role of future wizarding monarch at the ripe age of 11. Main focuses are worldbuilding and character development as Ceres immerses herself in wizarding politics and grapples with having such mature responsibilities at such a young age.

(I want to make it known that I try very hard to make Ceres not a Mary Sue)

i swear to the gods if i came out of this cold with pollen allergies (that i def didnt have before, i take pride in not being allergic to pollen) i’m going to fight whichever god/malevolent spirit gave them to me

i have been sneezing/been on the verge of sneezing LITERALLY all day and it only stopped when i took an antihistamine

my dad got me cherry flavoured Powerade (for the electrolites) along with the popsicle when i was dehydrated

i still havent finished drinking even half and Im beginning to think it was a ploy to get me to deink slower with the horrible taste

especially since i found BLUE flavour in the fridge and i can’t drink it cuz momma didnt raise me to be wasteful

don’t you just love missing your first day at work due to being majorly sick

then getting progressively worse throughout the day in such a way that you can’t sit up for 5 seconds without needing to lie down and you can’t go an hour without vomiting (4 times, it was very bad)

all to find out after eating a popsicle and cooling down that it was just major dehydration and now you feel just mildy sick and congested

i’m supposed to start work tomorrow and i got sick today ;_;

i am not feeling great guys

i’d be feeling much better if not for that weird sensation you get when you’re sick where it feels like your nerves are on overdrive and every little sensation feels like too much

And here I give y’all a sneak peak into the first chapter. I’ve written, like, two pages so far and this excerpt is just under one page.

I plan on making very long chapters, and my goal for the wordcount is however many words it takes me to get to my chapter break lol

Probably not even an eighth of the way there, but I’ve only just started so I can’t give a good assessment

I plan on having long chapters for my fic, my readers will be eating good

I’m surprisingly finding it easy to write a child, I thought it would be harder. When it comes to writing Ceres, I’m focusing on highlighting her innocence as a child so that it hits harder when responsibility starts to pile up on her.

Here’s the vest-jacket thing i talked about in the tags of my previous post. It’s not supposed to be white, I just haven’t colored it in yet.

The jacket is meant for winter weather when it gets cold in the castle but students aren’t venturing outside and thus don’t need to put on their cloaks. It can also be used in fall and spring for chilly outside weather.

There’s no boys uniform equivalent because the boys uniform has multiple long sleeve layers by default, while the girls uniform gown has short sleeves.

The inspo came from regency era Promenade dresses, a dress one would wear when venturing outside. They were ’worn to see and be seen’ (quoted from Jane Austen’s website), and were often a full costume featuring a head covering, and outer garment or wrap, and gloves.

I opted for a cropped jacket look that cut off at the waistline of the dress so that it looked more natural, mimicking the short spencer jacket that was often part of the ensemble. It isn’t necessary for the uniform to have an entire seperate ensemble for going outside and socializing, nor would it really make sense, so it just gets a jacket.

Edit: i fudged the historical accuracy when I first posted this so I had to fix it lol

May I present… my version of the hogwarts uniforms for my fanfic-of-a-fanfic, starring regency era fashion

the first pic is what the clothes look like before you get sorted, although the models are older than first years

the reason the boys template is so… scribbly is because i drew the girls template first and didnt have the patience for much detail (also this is the second rendition)

also, i don’t need much visual aid for writing the boys uniforms and fashion as i would for the girls/womens fashion, as feminine fashion of the regency era contains much more detail than the masculine

isn’t it fun to experience an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite (and its happened to you multiple times before) with is swelling up larger than the size of a nickel

AND THEN you realize that the swelling you have now (over/about 2 cm in diameter) is perfectly circular, like the motions you used to rub in the anti-itch cream multiple times throughout the day

so now your mother is heading down to a pharmacy in japan for antihistamines because you’re on vacation while you hold a cold compress to the swollen area

fun fact: the culture of wizarding britain in my fanfic is based heavily off of regency england, with influences from victorian england and other, more modern time periods

(because even though the statute of secrecy exists, it’s impossible to be completely cut off from the culture of muggles if a good portion of your population is hiding in plain sight from within them)

update: 4 hours later, and the hat man hasn’t found me.

in other news, i used off brand nair spray to get rid of my leg hair.

Worked wonderfully, except for the mild burning sensation during the 5 minutes where it was working its magic (i did not receive any injuries) and the fact that it left stubble and now I cant wear any legwear other than shorts because *uncomfy*
