Leverage: Redemption 1x4- "The Tower Job"
Broody, grumpy Eliot Spencer, whose past is black as Oklahoma oil...
Sweet, gentle Eliot Spencer, who fears he'll never do enough good to atone for his sins...
The ex-soldier who "doesn't do that anymore" and doesn't like guns...
Looked at Parker, who was in tears after someone had broken her unbreakable walls, and said, "yeah, I would kill someone for you right now if that's what you wanted."
eliot and hardison are so goofy in the gone fishin' job. eliot 'my hacker needs to touch grass' spencer and alec 'but theres bugs and diseases out there' hardison. they stop in the middle of running for their lives, being chased by dogs and militia guys with guns, to settle an argument with rock paper scissors. eliot is so excited to take hardison fishing and lunch at the bait shop and everything it entails, and hardison responds by setting up a whole indoor mock fishing getup to play an xbox fishing game together. they are BOTH sitting in lawn chairs under an umbrella wearing vests and a goddamn bucket hat drinking beer from a cooler INSIDE. goofballs
i love leverage because despite their absolute hatred for working with each other at first they just slowly become a found family that can’t live without each other, they’d kill for each other even. they protect each other and learn to accept them for who they are and i just love them so much
"because that would mean that I think about you and Parker, which I never do"
hell yeah bro! what a totally normal and 100% heterosexual thing to say
I think there's something so interesting in the ot3's relationships to the money and abundance that they live with on the show. None of them grew up with much, but they have totally different responses to it now.
Hardison has worked so hard to get where he is, and he's gonna use that money to make the lives of everyone around him as easy as possible, so help him. He's not shy about it, either, because he enjoys having access to monetary solutions to things in a way that he never got as a kid.
Eliot-- there's nobody he can actually send money to. You can bet that he tried with his dad and you can also bet that his dad didn't accept it and was upset by it, and I imagine there's definitely some classism dissonance in then having to think of how to spend it himself. Tbh it's probably mainly stored in contingency plans and safehouses and paying off assassins, plus a nice car and some sizeable regular donations to veteran's associations.
And for Parker, money is security and independence, it's the prize at the end of what Archie valued her for, it's this constant thing in her life where she has worth as long as she keeps raking in the cash. It makes her legitimately happy in a way that not much else does because everything in her life has taught her to value it that way.
For a show where they rake in millions every episode, they're really never shown to be doing anything with it, and idk, I think that's so important for the show as a whole but also for the characters as individuals.
parker when she has to be alice white
Eliot is the Leverage team's guard dog, and Harry is the Leverage team's little purse dog.
Current theory is that the reason Eliot is always fighting in the background while the scene focused on is people talking is that you know Eliot is going to win. No one’s doubting that. There’s always a chance someone the others are talking to will do/say something unexpected, but if Eliot’s fighting someone it’s only a matter of time until he’s won. So we focus on the part that’s up in the air.
playing this awesome game I call getting so angry I become deathly calm and begin to coolly and deliberately plot the downfall of those who wronged me

Leverage (2008) // S03xE13 // The Morning After Job
kind of obsessed with him for this tbh. so often they're doing in-depth diversions or he's trying to figure out how to rope people into a fight without seeming like the aggressor. and then for this one he's just like. hey! fuck you. catch me if you can, loser

Leverage: Redemption 1x1- "The Too Many Rembrandts Job"
In The Last Dam Job, when Eliot has a gun trained on Dubenich, he says, "im thinking about saving my friend some trouble."
HIS HAND IS SHAKING.
Eliot Spencer, who doesn't hesitate to beat up bad guys. Eliot Spencer, who who can wreak havoc with a gun in each hand. Eliot Spencer, who chooses to fight with his fists. Eliot Spencer, who throws you down if you spill his coffee.
Eliot Spencer was thinking of saving his friend some trouble, and HIS HAND SHOOK.
Because he knew if he did it, Nate would never forgive him. And he had to weigh that consequence with letting Nate get revenge himself.
And he chose Nate.
If you don't love this man, you're wrong.
