was doing a first aid course and it kept talking about how when applying first aid to a child you have to ask the PARENT for consent and how the child's consent is not enough unless you cannot reach the parent. and then immediately after there was a unit on shaken baby syndrome, and then mentioned abuse as a common source of children getting injured. and they didn't see the irony there. i later asked the instructor what to do about parental consent if the medical emergency was from the parent abusing the child and she was like "you still need to obtain parental consent. you can report the abuse though" not even acknowledging how fucked the whole system is. i hate it here. youth rights now

happy disability pride month to mean cripples, nasty addicts, people with down syndrome who arent nice and talk constant shit, wheelchair users that WILL run you over, autists that dont care and arent about to pretend to, people who lie to their psychiatrists, people that sit on the floor in public places with no benches, amputees that lie profusely about "what happened"; to the "noncompliant", the "drug seeking", the "mean", the "difficult" and the "undeserving", and so on and so forth, i love us all and we deserve the world actually mwah mwah

T_T I wish bathroom-related disabilities weren’t still today the subject of so much baseless ableism and hatred.. When you learn that kind of shame, it can kill you. People think “it’s too embarrassing to be seen buying an enema, or to go to the ER and need a manual disimpaction. I’ll just wait this one out” and then the bowel perforates and that can kill you in no time at all. And a LOT of it is just because of the meaningless stigma surrounding something as universal and basic as.. peeing and pooping?? That’s insane! Most everyone does it! Get over yourself and stop perpetuating shame!! Knowing someone has to wear a diaper will not kill you, but the embarrassment that person feels might just kill them!!

Hot take: If Jayvik adopted Powder, Viktor would absolutely not be the strict dad. Out of the fics I've read, I noticed the trend of "Viktor is the responsible parent, Jayce won't be able to resist Powder's puppy eyes," No. You're incorrect

Viktor grew up in the Undercity, he'll have tolerance for Powder's antics. She'd walk around alone at night in Piltover and he'd be fine with it because if she can walk through the streets of Zaun and not die, she'll be just fine in Piltover by night. He's fine with her cooking up dangerous things in the lab, because he did the same thing at her age. He doesn't mind her manners because hey, at least she's not picking fights or stabbing people, she's fairly tame for s trencher kid, so she'll be fine.

Jayce grew up as part of the upper-middle class of Piltover, then started working for Piltover's elite. He probably thinks overcooked toast is a health hazard. He doesn't want Powder messing around in the lab by herself because what if she gets hurt and accidentally cuts herself with a piece of metal and gets tetanus. She hasn't had any of her shots. The common cold could kill her! She sneezes and Jayce has a panic attack. She says something out of pocket to Caitlyn and Jayce is like "Pow, you can't say that, that's my boss' daughter!"

Viktor is not the overprotective, overbearing dad. Jayce is.
