I've not been here in ages, I know, but I just need to get this out somewhere and here is the best place I could think of.
I saw a post on Insta celebrating the geometric art in the architecture and general decoration of Iranian mosques. I commented saying that I find Islamic geometric art beautiful. I saw the word 'mosque' and, thanks to what I was taught in school and in museums and in a really nice documentary I made a post on here about years ago, I thought 'Islam'. I thought there was a thing in some of Islam that meant you couldn't draw humans or something like that, leading to a lot of really intricate and clever geometric artwork.
Now, ALL I said was that I found Islamic geometric art really beautiful. That was not me stating anything except what I said.
Unfortunately, that lead to some vicious hate replies saying that I didn't actually know anything about it and was showing my stupidity and that Islam is completely destructive.
So, I was wrong in saying Islamic, apparently mosques aren't like how churches are Christian and synagogues are Jewish. I was unaware of this.
I also didn't say anything positive about Islam as a concept or anything like that. I just appreciate the artwork that exists, I thought, because of Islamic rules. I would have been fine to be told what I'd said wrong kindly, but nope! It was venom from the start.
I'm essentially an anti-theist. I don't usually say that out loud but it is the truth if anyone was to look at my thoughts. That just doesn't mean that I'm going to say everything to do with religion is bad because I don't think that! My problems with religion are to do with the ideologies. I can still find stuff done because of religion to be beautiful. Although, apparently mosques aren't religious buildings so I regret saying 'Islamic' when talking about the kind of art it was.
I deleted my comment and the notifications about the replies because I didn't want a fight. But my RSD is triggered so fucking bad just from seeing that there were nasty replies that I had to come and write this out somewhere.
So here's a post on here in 2026. Because I got something wrong in what was supposed to be a nice comment on Instagram. I'm alone in bed in tears. Things just pile up. And I'm exhausted. I was just trying to say something positive because I don't feel the need to shout about my opposition to religion whenever religion is mentioned. Sometimes I just want to say something pleasant about something pretty. But that was fucking stupid of me because I'm a dumb fucking idiot cunt who gets everything wrong and doesn't deserve to have a smooth experience in life because I'm so fucking idiotic and useless. Stupid little bitch.
The point is that United Healthcare had that much money to lose and is still operational. In fact their daily operations haven't been impacted at all by the loss. The entire value of Canada's healthcare system for 40 million people is less than that. This implies that an equivalent amount of money to what can provide a superior healthcare service than what UHC provides, to 40 million people, was moving through the United States healthcare system as pure profit margin.
In other words, a small portion of the profit margin of just one of the United States private health care companies, would be enough to pay for the full and total healthcare of every single uninsured person in the United States twice over. The implication is that the profit margins of these companies could very easily cover expanding healthcare access if we had a public healthcare system.

this is an ongoing situation with some really confusing messaging trying to downplay how many drinks this is, and may involve more countries, more products, and more recalls down the line.
the long story short here is a TON of coca cola drinks in europe have the leftovers of cleaning fluid in them, and there are probably going to be a lot more developments here.

The 'out of pocket' rubbish has been making me so angry that I have decided to deal with that anger by 'politely' suggesting to people in their comments that they've made a wee mistake and actually mean 'out of left field'. Or just 'out of the ordinary'. Just DEFINITELY NOT 'out of pocket'. I've even heard 'out of left pocket'. It is so strange. A few people just started saying the wrong one about a year ago and suddenly everyone was doing it! Having to pay for something directly with your own money does not mean 'bizarre'.
