Alexa Wilding modelled for many works by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, including these three paintings. They were included in a Rossetti inspired photographic series by Donna Stephens.
1st Column Photographs of Alexa Wilding
2nd Column Paintings by Rossetti: Venus Verticordia, 1864-8, La Ghirlandata, 1873 & Lady Lilith, 1868
3rd Column Love Letters to Rossetti, 2012, Donna Stephens
Three very quick ones so I put them in one post. 1. Catching an idea 2. In the deep 3. Toxic * The fist collage is based on âPortrait of Mary Hill, Lady Killigrewâ (1638) by Sir Anthony Van Dyck The second one is âStill life with tulips and hyacinthâ (1715) by Coenraet Roepel
paintings by Luigi Benedicenti
One trouble with soft-core sexual imagery aimed at young men is that the women photographed are not actually responding sexually to anything; young men grow up trained to eroticize images that teach them nothing about female desire. Nor are young women taught to eroticize female desire. Both men and women, then, tend to eroticize only the womanâs body and the manâs desire. That means that women are exaggeratedly sensitive to male desire for their own arousal, and men are exaggeratedly insensitive to female desire for theirs.

âYears ago a friend of mine had a dream about a strange invention; a staircase you could descend deep underground, in which you heard recordings of all the things anyone had ever said about you, both good and bad. The catch was, you had to pass through all the worst things people had said before you could get to the highest compliments at the very bottom. There is no way I would ever make it more than two and a half steps down such a staircase, but I understand its terrible logic: if we want the rewards of being loved we have to submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known.â

after YEARS of seeing this quote online and finding it to be the most deeply and resoundingly profound writing i finally found the source article and absolutely nothing could prepare me for this opening paragraph
Okay but the whole article is really interesting and also contains this quote which Iâve never heard before but really like:
âAnyone worth knowing is inevitably also going to be exasperatingâ
apologies to jp brammerâs incredible prose as always but you all know what weâre thinking about with this one
I'm actually high now. I need smth to eat that kills hunger pains fast bc I'm hungry but getting a bit too high to do much about it. maybe some peanut butter.
I thought "i feel like I'm in five directions" which I think I meant "dimensions"
i think my high school best friend and I must have had the modern equivalent of a romantic friendship at a 19th century women's boarding school bc I can't come up with any other explanation for how I felt towards her. and still feel, actually
we were sleeping together for 6 months (which I refer to as an affair bc 1. it's funny and dramatic and 2. she had an online bf at the time (who sucked!!!) so she was technically cheating on him) and I had a lot of emotions but I wouldn't call them romantic OR platonic. I just really like her and she's so funny and set a standard no man has ever been able to reach. and I feel like I was always looking for a surrogate for her in my exbf and more recently my (idk a concise description for it. "dated in 8th grade then dreamed about periodically and 10 years later matched on hinge and almost got feelings for eachother but then a bunch of other shit happened which I'm not going to get into rn") cuz they both knew her back then. girl why am I even typing this rn.... cuz I wanted to post just the first part about the romantic friendship. ill post anyways. send post
I'm high. nonsensical diary posts incoming
