is this somewhat applicable to some parents of autistic kids? sure, i guess. but the framing of the issue once again excludes people for whom autism is a serious disability as well as their families
im serious, you might as well say, oh, youâre upset that your child with a terminal illness is suffering pain and wonât live very long? letâs reframe this! maybe the problem is the value youâre placing on things like âbeing aliveâ and ânot being in painâ
not that trying to change your mindset is never a good way to deal with unchangeable circumstances, but this is straight up gaslighting mothers of disabled children
