So apparently at one point during the American Revolution Alexander Hamilton, Lee and a bunch of troops were all across the Hudson River from the rest of the army, and Hamilton and a few other men were destroying bags of flour so the British wouldn’t get to them (since the British were supposed to arrive soon) and anyway the troops saw the British coming and began to retreat by marching off, but Hamilton and the other few men were left by the shore of the river with a heck of a lot of redcoats approaching. Luckily they had a boat and fled back across the river (under British gunfire), but one man died, another was wounded, and they all bailed and began to swim but made it out ok. However, Lee assumed Hamilton was dead and reported thus to Washington and his aides, and they were apparently all mourning him and drinking to his memory when he appeared in the doorway, dripping wet.

Listen to me. Today in class, we had a poll. Many of the students refused to vote because #NeverHillary and #DumpTrump and #I'mTooCoolForPolitics.

It came out 70% Trump. Trump won my class, because the left-leaning students refused to vote.

I know this election sucks. I know both candidates are problematic. But if you don’t go out there and vote for Hillary, Trump WILL be president. Our country WILL go to hell, and we WILL NOT make any real progress towards LGBT+ rights, women’s rights, or the rights of people of color. The right to have an abortion will be more heavily restricted, if not repealed. Our economy will continue to struggle because Trump will not raise taxes on the rich like we so desperately need to do. The environment will continue to hurt, as Trump has shown no real concern with environmental issues, and so will education. He has no political experience. NONE.

Please vote for Hillary. Please keep this misogynistic, racist, homophobic, and selfish man out of our government. We don’t need any more.

Reminder: Bernie Sanders isn’t running for president and literally cannot win. Don’t bother writing his name in. It’s literally a wasted vote. The same as voting for your dog or for Mickey Mouse.

Also: don’t photograph your ballot. Many states have laws against this and will void your ballot if you post it online.

Also: you have the right to a secret ballot. If a “poll watcher” legit or fake demands to know who you’re voting for you do not have to tell them and they are violating federal law.

Also: You can’t vote online. There are absentee and early voting methods that require a mailed in ballot (use 2 stamps) but otherwise you do have to actually show up.

A very close friend of mine is in a highly controlling and abusive relationship. They need help getting out but have no finances and no family. Their abuser has made sure they can’t save what little money they do get and monitors their every move. They were able to get hold of me and ask if I could help them and get them out. Their abuser stalks me from time to time because they know how close we are and it’s the one relationship they have not been able to completely sever.

I am afraid for my friends mental as well as physical safety. The abuser also has family members of theirs help abuse my friend They are losing hope they will ever get away. They are out of state and are trying to get here to stay where I am so they can get on their feet and away from the abuse. I told them I would help as much as I can. I thought maybe if I can get some donations then maybe I can get them to safety.

btw… important PSA: cutting off the mold on the surface of food does nothing. you can only see the spores on the surface, but mold itself has spread and grown roots into the food. by the time you can actually *see* the spores, that piece of food is completely full of it. youre still eating mold.
