My woke take, as someone who has worked in both a public library and a school library, is that we desperately need both more books that are at a higher reading level but a less mature subject matter, and more books that are at a lower reading level but a more mature subject matter, because 8 year olds who are advanced readers are still 8 year olds and don't want to read about graphic violence and torture, and teens and adults who have learning difficulties or who are just later readers for whatever reason are still teens and adults and don't want to read about Billy the Bunny going to school or whatever the hell.

Harvey showcased a lot of new designers throughout the year, alongside his ongoing collaborations with Christian Siriano!

His Emmys fashion journey showed this in microcosm: he slayed in Bishme Cromartie to announce the Emmy nominations, in Siriano at the Creative Arts Emmys, in Harry Halim at the Primetime Emmys, and in Cucculelli Shaheen at the post-Emmys parties.

Harvey continued to highlight sheer textures in his looks and added a new twist with temporary tattoos on his arms for a couple of red carpets. He introduced pleated pieces by Homme Plissé Issey Miyake and explored new ways to show some skin with backless outfits by Siriano and Jonathan Marc Stein early in the year. He leaned into leather with a stunning photoshoot also in Jonathan Marc Stein, repped fat positivity with a Mameko Maeda Tenga X Artist sweater, and featured eco-friendly fashion with Romina Cardillo at the premiere of Companion. Plus, he revived one of his earliest fashion collabs, with Ashton Michael, at the 2025 Latine Honors.

assuming rico is the same age as sonny or a little younger he would've been born like 1953-54ish which is to say consider freshly 18 year old rico seeing shaft (1971) in theaters and thinking it's the absolute coolest thing ever

he sees it with rafael, who does some amount of eyerolling at the more vigilante justice leaning elements, but he is admittedly forced to agree when rico counters but have you considered that he's a baaaad mother–shut your mouth! ("that's the same mouth you kiss our mother with," rafael jokes, hypocritically.)

I'm watching « miami vice 5 » and personally I would've given up on trying to cure my amnesiac loved one if they shot me. Like, hoping and metaphorically praying for their recovery of course but I'd need to be alive to resume the relationship. I know it's extraordinarily easy for me to say as someone who's never been in love but I think I'm right on that one

Interesting and affordable. 1979 Pyramid house in Magalia, CA has 3bds, 1ba, 2,340sqft, $125k, but it does some work.

So, the main living area is an open family room/kitchen. You move thru the levels via a cutout in the middle of the floor. The large pole must be a support beam.

The sitting are has a wood burning stove in the corner, a view and access to the deck, and a long pony wall where you can see the lower level.

I'm surprised to see the kitchen in such bad shape. It's on a platform, or at least part of it is. The cabinet unit needs repair, the stove and hood have been removed. They did leave the fridge, but I don't see a dishwasher, either.

This looks like the lower level. Interesting woodwork. The living room isn't too bad, but the tile is chewed up.

The single bath is roomy, looks like it needs a floor, and a sink vanity. There are holes in the wall, but the sink is there, so maybe it was for a washer? The room through the doorway isn't finished.

The primary bedroom is huge and has sliders to a small patio. The floor needs to be refinished.

Bedroom #2 is nice, I like the look of the canopy over it. Looks like all the floors need refinishing.

Bedroom #2 has a mural. That's cute. The house is unique and has the potential to look beautiful with a little work, some color, and decor.

This is the very large deck.

There's no yard or garden, but there's a shed.

They left a child's playhouse.

There's a lot of land. 2.63 acres.
