We got four new chickens on Saturday to keep our last chicken company. Sadly, one jumped the garden fence and hasn’t been seen since and our last chicken passed this afternoon, but this is one of the three remaining newbies. Say hi to baby Chewie. He was going to end up as ferret food so we took him. Love him and his two new sisters, Beatrice and Bertha. It’s been 17 years today since my dad passed. His identical twin brother is the last surviving member of his original family and it’s killed me the few times I see him; he’s a reminder of what my dad would look like now had he lived. Paid for new piercings today. Three hoops under the already pierced top and matching hoops in all 4 holes. The plan is to change the hoops to much small and tighter ones once it’s all healed. We visited @thewhiskyshop in Brighton a few weeks ago and bought these #gorgeouswhiskies #glenkiertreasures (#SOgood). Yes, this is a picture of the magazine and no, I don’t care. I took this little madam out of her cage to dose her with her medication, except she’s a stubborn and determined little beast and fought her way to my shoulder and attempted to jump up on top of the fridge freezer. Of course, silly moo can’t jump and she fell and landed in her bad leg instead. Thankfully she doesn’t look as though she’s done any further damage but we’ll be keep an even closer eye on her on her over the next week. For now she’s enjoyed cuddles with me and I’ve only set her down so I can move, but she seems quite settled. (at Cheshunt)

After being hit by a car the Saturday before last, my gorgeous Sootica was allowed home finally yesterday. Her right femora and both sides of her pelvis was fractured, but thanks to the amazing care from @medivet_uk #medivetenfield and @royalvetcollege #queenmotherhospitalforanimals #royalveterinarycollege, she has all four legs! It’s been a week of intense stress and we’d been invited twice since we found her the Sunday before last to say goodbye, but our former stray never once gave up on coming through this so we would never give up on her #willofiron #fighter #timetorelearntowalk #sogladsheshome #lovemygirl (at Cheshunt)
