We Never Knew

Thoughts unspoken,
Lost and broken.
Pick a wish that’s left for no one.
I remember yesterday,
when this was still a heart unfolding.
Oh… we never knew the way, 
it felt to love again. 
Mistakes forgiven,
Unless they’re stolen.
Afraid to say the words we’ve chosen.
I remember what to say,
When we’re never bent, just broken.
Oh… we never knew the way, 
it felt to feel so real. 
No, we never knew the way. 
We never knew,
We never knew,
We never knew, like we always do. 
So, we just continue,
To jump before looking, 
leap without thinking, 
fall without knowing, 
and crash without burning. 
Again and again, 
the cycle begins, 
as we fight with our might, against all our sins. 
We burst out in spite,
and we bite till we cry,
or we finally accept that we can not win. 
Fate is the master of all your goodbyes.
Seize every moment or lie with your pride.
Regrets are worth nothing except wasting your time.
We saw this coming, yet continued to ride. 
Thoughts unspoken,
Lost and broken.

. SUNRISE SCALLYSWAGGER . . One goes to a place like Black Rock City to turn themselves inside out and see what they’re made of. It’s the equivalent of staring at yourself in the mirror until you can no longer differentiate between the you and the reflection. . Peeling back layers by the fistful and exposing every thread of your Being, there’s no hiding your true essence there. You will break down, break up, and/or break open, but you only break so that you know where to grow. . One goes to a place like Black Rock City because they aren’t afraid to see what lies beneath, to face it, and to embrace every piece of their soul. .
