Here’s a USA Win rn:

My college friend visited my city recently and like all recovering nerds we ended up visiting the bookstore. However as almost-broke post grads we didn’t buy anything which threw an axe to our whole let’s chill and read in the park plan.

But solution: I had just gotten a library card, and whatdya know there was a local branch right next to that same park. So heck ya, books and we don’t have to pay!

So I drag my friend inside this beautiful temple of knowledge, and like the heathen I am and I insist we find the romance section.

i have a card. I’ll return it later, I tell her as drag her through the great golden doors to a place I later learn is on the list of National Historical places. There is no security tho. This is a library.

And my friend, who is not from the US, is genuinely baffled.

Which not to be an ignorant American, but I was like yall don’t have libraries? Like this is a big one yeah, but nothing!?

And she’s like not open to the public??? Not something like this, for free?

Which what??? But she’s like The government doesn’t fund it, at which point I shut up and grieve this injustice internally. I, shockingly, spent most of my childhood in libraries.

So we spend well over an hour inside, touring every single room, and she’s genuinely more exicited by the library then any of the other things we were planning for her trip. Her visit turns into a tour of my city’s public library system. Genuinely incredible time. And oh boy it’s created a monster.

She finished two books over not even a two day trip. She spent zero dollars on them. she ended up getting a library card for the system where she currently lives. I know she downloaded at least 3 more books before she left.

(on our last trip we demolished two bottles of gin so hey character growth?)

So yeah, support local libraries. Get a library card. Take your friends, make it a trip. some of them have really cool history and architecture. We are so lucky the exist. The US can be cool sometimes actually.

Grace getting knocked out at the control panel was probably some sort of nightmare for Rocky. Eridians don’t look like they get knocked out easy if at all, and here’s the squishy alien friend, sleeping very suddenly, and leaking a fluid Rocky surely knows by now is incredibly important. He was watching and Grace is dying anyway.

ahshdhf okay but can you imagine being madame morrible and you finally find the one person you need to secure yours and the wizards positions of power and she’s PERFECT because everyone hates her and by providing literally the bare minimum comfort and encouragement you’re 100% sure you’ll be able to brainwash her. And then one night at 1 am she shows up at your door and BEGS YOU to let her roommate (didn’t they hate each other?) study alongside her and you absolutely despise the roommate but goodness knows you Cannot let your most promising student in decades slip out of your grasp. Worst of all, you have to tell the roommate Right Now??? So you get dressed for the club in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT to talk to the preppiest most shallow 20 yo girl you’ve ever met in your years of teaching. I would never teach a lesbian again LMAOOOOO
