“uh -- i see. she’s alive now -- well, at least she was the last time i saw her. i can call her if that helps. yeah but still, i’m not letting my child near him if that happens sometime soon, y’know, i’m not sure how the timeline works now you’re here. okay, good, so there’s really nothing much to know than the facts that you like pizza and you are a good archer?? if you really want to fight him, my vote is not on punches considering he’s captain america.”

he doesn’t know why he had become glued to his spot to begin with. maybe it was the noise, or just the sight of it, or the confusion. but he doubts it’s any of the latter. machine city was never quiet. not with ultron around. not with his robots trying to kill everyone. and maybe he panicked when he felt someone grab him – but as quick as the fear had come, it was gone. the storm was gone from his sight. he was - inside?? and his dad was there. “yeah, i mean. yeah.” he shrugs, wandering his way over to the windows, trying to keep as calm as he could. there was no reason for him to freak out. it was only some bad weather.
clint could tell he was at least slightly scared, if not more. he seemed like a tough guy, clint was unsure about what was causing him to be like this but he wanted to know, there had to be something behind it. placing his hands on francis’ shoulders, he tried to get him look at his face. “hey, what’s it??” he furrowed his eyebrows as he tilted his head to the side, trying to read his face. hearing the storm getting louder, he looked out of the window before taking him to a bathroom with no windows which was probably safer. “it’s better now. we’re safe, y’know that right??”

I WAS DISINTEGRATED?? son, you say it like it’s nothing. oh bro... well, i see your point. just wanted to know about you, y’know. good. well, you can try. mind you, he’s good with words. like, really.”

“i see. but there’s no point in fighting it off yourself when you can whine about it to someone and make them take care of you. at least, that’s what i like to do.” he shrugged and sent back the smile. “are you always like that?? like, thinking about fashion even when you’re burning up.”

“gaby. got it. a handsome face?? well, some people around don’t agree on that with you but -- thanks?? if that also applies for me, i mean. yeah, that’d be correct. there are people i knew back from the dead so someone from a different time who knows someone with the same face as me doesn’t surprise me.”

“you don’t ever get sick?? are you an inhuman or something?? well, at least you got my name right this time. here,” he said before placing his jacket on her shoulders. “better.”
“we agreed on katherine. i mean, yeah. i didn’t get my good looks from you. i dunno. i guess since this place is still put together it has to be before all that ultron stuff. you don’t even die gruesomely, you’ll get over it. i don’t, but i want to fight them. idiots. no one needs to know that. unless you’ve already made that reputation known around here, in which case, cool. maybe people will let me do actual fun stuff with them.”
“she lets you call her that?? that’s something. whoa there -- no need to insult your father, is there any?? nope, we already defeated ultron. how do i die?? maybe i can avoid it, y’know. okay, cap can be a pain in the ass sometimes but he’s a great leader and a friend, sort of. dunno about his son but no fighting steve, ‘kay?? well, the people know me already know that but you still have the chance to make a better reputation around, there are, what, at least three hundred??”

when the storm started, clint found himself looking for his son even though he knew nothing about being a father and it actually felt so awkward to know he has a nineteen year old son in the beginning of his thirties, he felt protective over him which was surprising considering who got worried about someone was clint. when he found francis, he started to drag him inside. once they were somewhere safe -- at least it was better than being outside -- he turned aroun to look at him. “you okay??”

clint didn’t even know how long it had been or how long they had to wait until they could finally go outside but he just couldn’t keep himself from looking at his watch every minute, like it’d help the situation. he just needed to make sure that the people he cared about was safe, the thought of them getting hurt alone made his stomach twist. feeling the other’s gaze on him, clint tilted his head up to look at the girl. “-- sorry, it’s just, i’m not a very patient person and this isn’t helping at all.” he sighed before shaking head and placing a hand on the girl’s shoulder, trying to awkwardly comfort her even though he didn’t know a thing about it. “you aren’t scared, are you??”
“barbara. katherine calls her bobbi. i took over after you died. it’s what you raised me to do. mhm. rogers. i’m fighting all of them, where’s cap? – i’m not going to get into any trouble.”
“katherine, as in, kate?? WAIT -- your mother is bobbi?? oh... that actually makes sense. i guess you’re from future then?? uh, this looks bad, i’m gonna die. like really. why do you fight them?? i heard that he’s around. boy, we’re bartons, better known as trouble magnets.”
