Ginga is always questionable!
To all those who watch / read anything about Ginga yet whine about horrible stuff, you must remember that Ginga manga/anime is mature-rated and not for kids. The manga/anime is always filled with sexism, animal abuse, doggy violence, dog-fighting and dirty jokes yet fans are still hooked on it just because of dogs. If it weren’t for dogs, then no one would care about Yoshihiro’s stuff. Yoshihiro Takahashi is always old-fashioned and the manga was supposed to be aimed for boys; even if he sees a lot of female fans in the anime convention, he will still carry on with writing blatant sexism in Ginga world.
You will see a lot of questionable things in the manga series such as….
Shiroi Senshi Yamato, Byakuren no Fangu and Ginga Nagareboshi Gin have scenes of dog-fighting.
In Byakuren no Fangu, Makoto’s father beats him half to death for being a victim of Anzai and Unryu (when they tried to kill Zero and Uminishiki) and calls it “paternal love.” And it’s turned into a joke, later.
Ginga Nagareboshi Gin has a “mentor good guy” called Gohei whose training are questionable animal abuse. Ginga Nagareboshi Gin has scenes of unnecessary suicide as an “honourable” way to die among Ninja Dogs. In GNG, there are cannibalistic clan of Ninja dogs called Kogas, Kurojaki also killed and ate Wilson’s mate and son in the backstory which led to the grieving Wilson taking Chibi as a hostage and trying to kill him if not for Cross’ intervention.
Ginga Densetsu Weed has a Great Dane who does disgusting acts (sexually-harrassing Reika, doggy cannibalism and killing/torturing other dogs) called Hougen. GDW also has Hiro who painfully castrates his animals as an attack yet he’s a “good guy”. The later parts of Ginga Densetsu Weed manga have lots of dirty jokes made by GB, Sasuke, Kyoushiro and Hiro. Ginga Densetsu Weed manga has a genocidal scene with Viktor and the militant German Shepherds who force the local female dogs and puppies of Hokkaido to commit suicide by driving them off the cliff.
Ginga Densetsu Weed Orion has Unsai the setter who seems to look like a pedophile as he looks at Orion’s genitals yet Yoshi uses it as “joke”. Ginga Densetsu Weed Orion have three Kai Kens (Tsumuji, Kurokimaru and Kosetsu) hunt and kill the mother bear in the most sadistic and disgusting way like a parasitic alien.
Ginga Last Wars have sadistic bears that torture puppies (poor Bob) and kills Lydia the only motherly fighting female in her prime age.
And all of Yoshihiro’s manga have sexism!
If you are a staunch SJW, then I suggest that you should skip watching / reading all of Ginga. If you ever try to write angry letters to Yoshihiro about the horrible sexist depictions in the series, it’s no use; he would just ignore any angry letter.
