The funniest part of that hucklerobby fist bump for me is this new character sticking his fist out like “hey Dr Robby me too right? I saved that life too.” And is promptly ignored

Established married Rabbot overhearing Dennis complaining once about his old shoes, how they’ve got too many holes to still be considered shoes.

So a new pair shows up in his locker, no note, and just his size.

Then it’s extra snacks, the ones he always hesitates before taking in the break room. Suddenly there’s more in his locker than anyone else’s, protein bars, something sweet for his blood sugar, stuff that doesn’t go bad if he forgets to eat.

A better water bottle, one that actually keeps his drinks cold. A travel mug that’s already been washed. A spare phone charger, because Robby noticed that his is held together by tape.

When it starts getting colder, a new coat appears, practical and warm. And definitely too expensive for Dennis to ever buy himself. Dennis stands there holding it like he’s not sure he’s allowed to keep it.

It doesn’t stop there, gloves, new socks, compression socks (iykyk), a first aid kit restocked way too carefully.

And then one day there’s a hoodie. Jack’s hoodie. Yes, he has alternate motives for that one.

Jack and Robby finish their shift report, standing together with a perfect view of the lockers, pretending to talk schedules while Dennis opens his locker door and goes pink all the way up his ears, inspecting the newest additions like they might vanish if he blinks.

The gifts are for Dennis.

Watching him find them is for Jack and Robby.

Dennis gains a velcro med student that follows him around like a lost puppy. Dennis did like one cool thing in front of him and that was enough. He looks at him like he has all the answers. Every time Dennis turns a corner, that boy is right on his tail.

Robby notices because it's his job. They're a teaching hospital so keeping track of med students and where they are isn't out of the ordinary. He notices that this particular med student has taken a liking to Whitaker. He notices how clingy he seems to be and how he absolutely beams when Dennis gives him any sort of praise. He notices how he blushes up to his ears when Dennis gives him one of his awkward, tight lipped smiles. He notices how there isn't any room to stand beside Dennis because that boy is always there.

Robby notices his palms sting a bit when he applys hand sanitizer. He discovers little crescent shaped cuts there, probably (definitely) from how hard he's been clenching his fists lately. He's also developed an eye twitch. These two things are not at all related to the fact that his human sized stress ball has been essentially stolen from him.
