“I don’t care about controversies. I am a young woman with an opinion about certain things. I can’t be diplomatic. I am a feminist, and as long as I can be the voice of hundreds of girls out there, I will speak my mind. I don’t care what other people think.”

that story about the two Japanese women who are planning to get married in every country that allows them to is so fucking sad. idk how y’all are looking at that tweet but just reading it and seeing someone going “hahaha, power move!” it kinda hurts that someone would say that??
i know they meant well but- it’s nothing short of absolutely tragic that no matter how many years Misato Kawasaki and Mayu Otaki have been together, no matter how many times they get married, their love will not be recognised in the place they live. that’s fucking sad and awful, and this is intense political protest, not just a funny Power Move.
here is the full article.
here is their fundraiser, which you can donate to. it’s in japanese but google translate works.
