Woman Charged With Criminal Mischief for Giving Water to Thirsty Animals
On June 22nd, Anita Krajnc approached a stationary slaughterhouse transportation truck outside the Fearmanâs Pork Inc. slaughterhouse in Burlington, a city in the greater Toronto area. She squeezed water out of a bottle into the truck for the thirsty animals inside. The truck driver left his vehicle and told her to stop giving the pigs water. While Anita refused to stop, he told her, âNo, you know what, these are not humans, you dumb frickinâ broad.â Anita repeatedly asked him to, âHave some compassion,â as the pigs continued guzzling up the water, and the truck driver threatened her, âYou do it again, and Iâll slap it out of your hands.â Eventually, the driver returned to his truck and left without any physical altercation.
On September 9th, a police officer came to Anitaâs house to issue her a summons for the charge of criminal mischief for giving water to the pigs.

This is the industry you are supporting.
this is why I only buy local free roam animals, I can see how they are raised and how they are killed. I can feel good that the animal is being cared for before itâs killed for my consumption. corporate farming is terrible.
Theyâre not killed for your consumption, theyâre killed for your pleasure. The word consumption gives the impression thereâs some point to it, some necessity. There isnât. They are killed because you enjoy the taste of their dead bodies. Theyâre killed for your pleasure.
No no. They are killed for necessity. Not everyone can survive a vegan diet. We are not herbavores. We are omnivores. Stop ignoring biology for your ridiculous appeal to emotion.
I agree they should be treated humaneley up until thier death but they are killed because we need to eat.
99% of people do not need to eat farm animals. Only a small percentage have issues with iron uptake the only useful thing meat provides yuo with that you would struggle to get any where else. And dont you dare mention protein because its literally in everything.Â
It isnt ignoring biology. you dont need to eat meat.
While protein is in everything, there are four basic types: Lysine, Threonine, Tryptophan, and the sulfur containing amino acids. Meats/dairy contain the most lysine, and threonine. Nuts and seeds contain the most Tryptophan and sulfur-amino acids.
Another thing, plant and meat based proteins are structured differently, due to being different classes of life. Proteins found in animals are much similar to our own proteins, and as a result, are much easier for our bodies to process. Plant proteins, are âincompleteâ proteins. You must combine sources of plant proteins to get a complete protein intake.
My body personally has a difficult time absorbing and processing plant-based proteins. My protein intake has to be from meat, or with animal based food products.
In addition, those with extremely active lifestyles, arguably need a good source of meat protein, rather than plant protein. The protein source for many shake mixes for body building and the like, are based off of animal proteins, as they are easily and quickly processed by the body.
What even is the problem with eating something for your pleasure? I agree big farms arenât good nor fair for animals and if I were in charge of my own meals (Iâm underage and thus living under my parentsâ rules) Iâd eat local animals. If they have a good life who fuckin cares what you do with them once theyâre dead
Gosh, what a darn shame youâre underage and not in charge of your meals. Thank goodness when youâre older youâre going to start eating the bodies of enslaved animals that were killed nearby as opposed to a little further away from where you live. Thatâs, like, so important.Â
My question for you, dalaisa-thirhi, would you like to die? Right now? Youâve had many many years on this earth, you had your family, would you be okay dying so someone could have a moment of pleasure they didnât even need? I meanâŠyouâve had a good life so far so in your own words, âwho fucking caresâ? The truth is we donât want to die, because NO FUCKING LIVING THING WANTS TO DIEâŠand to rationalize it by saying they had a good few years is hypocritical because as you know, a few good years doesnât mean youâre totally cool with giving up the rest of your life. Animals run away from pain and death like we do, taking away their life and trying to make yourself feel better about it is psychotic.
This is a false equivalence. Animals are not humans.
Also killing a human, if you arenât a cannibal, is wasteful - pointless. Killing an animal is not pointless unless you are doing it for fun and leave the body to rot.
You can say it is as psychotic as you like, wonât change my consumption of meat or dalaâs consumption of meat.
Actually a variety of species exhibit the same cognitive and sentient displays commonly observed in human. And considering theyâre also suspectable to similar nervous systems and pain receptors, your argument is invalid. We are classified as animals as well. And the only difference is our frontal lobes developed faster than other animals and we evolved to using tools and questioning the physics of our planet and accommodating our live styles and technology accordingly.Â
Humans are, and always have been, naturally omnivorous. @necessaryveganism is a dumbass.
If it is an accepted fact that we can live 100% healthy lives without animal products, what the shit does it matter what we are âââââânaturallyâââââââ?
Right, except thatâs not an accepted fact. At all.
Besides, what the hell are we gonna do with all those farm animals if the people who own them canât make a living off of them?
Yeah. Wow. Like, what do you do with someone if you canât exploit them and use them to your benefit somehow?Â
They arenât people, theyâre animals. Many of them are so heavily reliant on humans for survival theyâll straight up die. Not to mention that the other ones wonât have anywhere to live. Converting everyone on earth to veganism is more likely to cause mass extinctions than anything else.
Wow, if only we could take care of the animals weâve genetically manipulated into dependence without profiting off them? If only there was ⊠*pets my adopted dog* ⊠some way to⊠*pets my adopted cats* ⊠take care of other beings ⊠*pets my adopted chickens* ⊠without being a selfish piece of shit?Â
Yeah, cause everybody on earth is perfectly willing and capable of adopting a bunch of cows and pigs. Oh wait.
Yes, itâs not a great solution - weâre having trouble finding fluffy kitties and puppies homes because people want pure-bred show dogs. Weâre fighting that too, and itâs not easy, because - surprise - people are selfish pricks. But your solution is to continue to breed and kill billions per year? We couldnât find homes for every farm animal so lets continue to mass-produce them like theyâre objects?Â

Robert Smith/Tambourine. Friday Iâm in love.
In one such place in Norwich, I returned from the performance to find several boarders chatting in the lounge; they told me they had seen the play and the conversation turned on actors in general. One of them said, âof course theyâre all queers, arenât they?â and began a dissertation about the corrupting influence of homosexuals. It was so unexpected and so aggressive that I didnât do much to gainsay him. I went to the kitchen, where we were allowed to make tea, and to my surprise he joined me in preparing cups and saucers. âHope my little outburst didnât offend you, but I had to talk like that in front of my mates. I always run down the poofs in company âcos it diverts attention from myself. I am queer you see ⊠but I expect you saw through all that, didnât you?â In fact I had seen through nothing. I had assumed his censure was genuine. It was only one of many arguments about deviants that I was to go on hearing over the years. Lines like âI canât stand queersâ is as daft as âI canât stand heterosexualsâ, but people will go on saying them. Whether it is sexual, religious or racial, discrimination will occur in one way or another in most societies, and eradicating efforts are futile because the prejudice is born of ignorance. Bernard Shaw wrote that the only thing to do about ignorance is to enlighten it, and a lot of idealists think that education can achieve that enlightenment. Legislators think that laws can do it, and trendsetters think fashion can do it. They are wrong because they start from a false premise. Theyâre like the doctor who once told me that smoking cigarettes would shorten my life: he made the erroneous assumption that I craved longevity.

I would like very much to have been born very handsome. Not for its own sake, but for the sake of being attractive to others. The reason I am so conservative in my tiny circle of friends, and the reason I stay in the house so much, is because I think my face & body unprepossessing. Iâve no doubt that this is only a superficial excuse for a more profound complaint within me. This is of course the paradox of my own nature. The thing that I am, being the thing which I despise. But I think my despite is justified.
