My fiance and I (already struggling to keep our phones on) are both going to be going through major surgery sometime in the future, which is a huge deal for a few reasons. The surgeries themselves are both gender affirming and will address serious long-suffered health issues. But we have such severe allergies that hospitals generally cannot feed us full meals without killing us. (ask me more about this, I would love an opportunity to scream about it)

In the past, a week in this hospital has cost us $300 for both of us to get food we can actually prepare and eat in a hospital room. We are looking at some insane upcoming costs, even if our insurance covers everything directly related to the surgery, because it absolutely won't cover the food costs.

oh, and I'm going through a cancer scare, waiting on a biopsy. Just totally separate from all this, so yknow. Sort of bracing for things to get worse.

My fiance and I are currently unpacking from being evacuated cross-country (trans, intersex, immigrant reasons), he's just changed his name for the sake of his saftey and is ammending the required documents, we are getting decent medical care for the first time in a decade🎉 I am also going through an ill timed cancer scare and we are struggling to keep up with our bills, and feed ourselves. I need to eat to take my meds. I need the phone on to contact my doctor and schedule rides to appts.

Right now we are primarily concerned with the phone and power bills. The phone bills is due tomorrow. We had a payment plan to pay off the past due amt, but there screw up in making the payment plan and as a result, they want the full amount. We are $200 short for that rn.

To summarize a previous update, we got the phone bill paid, the power bill is due, and I had a doctors appt today. Nothing has been recieved since we got the phone bill covered.

The doctors appt was. Eventful. I will be getting a pulmunary function test, cardiac monitor, 5 refferals to specialists, and if one of those goes well, I will be getting very major surgery in the relatively near future. If another one goes well, I may not need to pay for the MRI out of pocket, but thats not for certain. This is all on top of my biopsy, which has taken a while to schedule because it keeps getting passed to more knowledgable surgical teams. Our food stamps application was also resubmitted today, after some confusion regarding the documents.

Right now, our most urgent needs are food, $50 for the power bill, and anything to cushion the blow of the next phone bill and the likely upcoming month or so I will be down due to massive surgery. This is something I am stressing about, because it will be hours away, and I have allergies such that hospitals can't normally feed me without killing me, so I will need to spend a lot on pre-prepared food.

My fiance is back in this hospital, this time hetting checked for a blood clot (recently he had pancreatitis) Hospitals can't feed him due to multiple cross contamination sensitive allergies to common foods, so we may fairly urgently need some help with food costs.

We are back home, they didnt find a blood clot, but his bloodwork was all over the place, so theyre concerned and very adamant he keep his upcoming drs appt. We could really use some help with food in the meantime as we are waiting for snap, and we may need some help with the prescriptions the ER discharged him with.

I know this has a lot of notes, but right now we need $60 to get our meds from the pharmacy. His prescription from the ER and mine for migraines are both not getting covered by insurance. We have 3 hours to be able to get them because the bus is our only way into town rn, and there's only the one line back home.

I know that usamerican schools get a lot of flack but I really need to drive home how bad it is. The primary function of schooling in the usa is to gauge how effectively you can repeat lies. The history we were taught, in my liberal city, included such gems as:

Malcolm X was basically a more extreme evil version of MLK and while his views are understandable he was practically a domestic terrorist whose eventual assassination wasn't surprising or even maybe it was kinda deserved because of his violent rhetoric?

After union organization and the gilded age, everything was fixed and now you live in a fair society which will pay you what you're worth because of government regulation.

Communism never worked. Yes it sounds great in theory, but you'll see that we did our best to kill it and this is an indictment on them not on us.

The Korean and Vietnam wars were inevitable and the US only intervened to help its freedom-loving people stay sovereign against those evil commies. Yes there were unfortunately some atrocities but that's war. Sorry about that.

The United States of America were the reason that WWII ended. The Nuclear holocaust inflicted on the civilian populations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were necessary to this end.

The Soviets practically were only in the war because Hitler betrayed them, and otherwise would have been an Axis power.

Sorry for the late update. We were able to pay for our phone bill. In the afternoon, I have a doctor's appointment where I'll find out more about the following, but it looks like I'm going to be needing to pay out of pocket for an MRI. My insurance won't cover it without 6 weeks of physical therapy. No one on my medical team thinks its reasonable or acceptable to put me into physical therapy. An out of pocket MRI could easily be $1,000. So uh. Yeah, I'm gonna be posting a lot more art for sale.
