The ocean, was never something Axel was quite fond of. He’s seen it plenty times, watched the sun rise and fall beyond the horizon, watched the waves crash onto sandy beaches and lapse back into the sea. He knows there’s certain people who do like it, and he can appreciate their sentimental value, in a weird, stoic kind of way.
But he definitely does not like waking up on said shores, where waters wash up over his boots and sullies his cloak with salty seawater. God, his head is throbbing, it feels like he must’ve hit it on something. A rock probably... Is this the Destiny Islands? He has to guess so, slowly pushing himself up and shaking his head free of sand. An ounce of vertigo makes him groan, eyes closing and opening briefly to take in the harsh light. Light... even with it shining down on him, it’s rather frigid here.
Axel eventually turns his head around, looking about his new surroundings. Oh... this... really doesn’t look familiar. He can spot multiple islands but... none of this rings any bells. Not even the Destiny Islands feel so strange, as foreign as he is to there. Here... it’s like a completely different playing field. This can’t be good.
Rising to his feet, sand falls down from the hood of his cloak. If this is some kind of prank Demyx pulled, he’s going to regret it. Then again... Demyx might have little desire to go this far, as to knock the redhead out and put him on some foreign world. Axel shakes himself off, giving a short inhale and then a sigh.
“ Just my luck... ”
The only rational thing to do, is head towards the building that juts out the closest. Boots mesh and squeak grotesquely as he walks across the sand, taking it slow as his head spins. He’s trying to recollect what exactly happened for him to end up here... A mission? A mission, probably. Did it go wrong? ...Ugh, is this what Roxas feels like constantly? --Roxas. ...Man, this does mess up things pretty bad. He can’t look for Roxas at this rate. It’s better to find someone quickly and get an explanation out of them, so he can head back to Castle Oblivion.
His feet pick up a bit more, as the world stops spinning. A little sign juts out not too far off, making Axel hurry over to get a better read.
Welcome to Solitude
Solitude? Never heard of it... This doesn’t make sense. This is a pain in the ass, is what it is. Scratching behind his ear, Axel kicks sand out in front of him before making post haste towards the huge establishment close by.
Ohana Island Community Center
Ohana? What? The big sign hangs over two goats posing at the entryway of the large building. ...Ok, this isn’t the weirdest thing he’s seen but it’s definitely reaching the top of his list. Axel pinches the bridge of his nose, before moving forward to push the doors open-- only for them to slide open instead and he falls forward, flat on his face.
“ Ugh! Dammit! ” He really can’t be mad at anyone but himself. His ears ring and his head spins, but he pulls himself up and brushes himself off. At least no one was there to see that. It’s quite empty here in the “Community Center”. Maybe a few people in the corners, or... upstairs in what looks like a library. God, what is this place? There’s a welcome counter at the side, a rather bored looking person stands behind it, flicking through a magazine. Axel makes his way over and places his hands on the counter.
“ Hey, can you get me some info? Tell me where the hell I am? I think I uh, took the wrong cruise or something... Hey, are you even listening? ”
Axel doesn’t receive an answer, and is instead given a pamphlet. A frown crosses his lips, but he snatches it anyway and opens it to read.
‘ Axel...? ’
He hasn’t even the read the first word and his body seizes up. He knows that voice. He knows it all too well, and it’s almost freaking unbelievable, that he’s hearing it now. Axel lowers the pamphlet, emerald hues raising slightly to meet shining sapphires. The pamphlet drops and Axel remains still as stone.
