New Year Resolution 2022: Fight the Lazy in You
New year resolutions have started pouring in, and this year we have high hopes. If your last year’s resolution was to get in shape, chances are you are still far from achieving it. And you can’t even blame yourself since gyms across the country were not operating in full capacity.
However, this year, the challenge is bigger and more insidious.
The corporate working class has mixed opinions about working from the comfort of their homes. While some rejoice in their newfound sedentary lifestyle, others have started to hate themselves for being lazy and less productive.
If you are someone who has become lazy over time and barely gets any work done throughout the day, you might as well be having self-loathing thoughts. As a result, negative vibes take over and loop you in a vicious cycle of volatility.
First, you get frustrated because you didn’t get the work done, and then you can’t focus on your work because you are frustrated.
Changing this lazy behavior is important, not only because it’s frowned upon but also because as you get comfortable in the lazy zone, you have officially killed your motivation to succeed in life. And that’s why your new year resolution should be to fight the lazy in you.
And here’s how to do that.
Make a weekly planner
Try this out. Grab a diary or sticky note and jot down everything that you should be ideally accomplishing in a day. Break it down to the last detail and define the duration/deadline for each task, be it cooking, office work, exercise, or a walk in the park.
Right from waking up in the morning to going to bed at night, every minute should be calculated and accounted for.
Prepare this planner on a relaxed Sunday evening. Run through it multiple times and imagine yourself doing each task within the stipulated time frame. Better yet, memorize the entire schedule, so that when you wake up the next morning, you already know what needs to be done.
Make your health a priority
You can only achieve so much when your energy levels are dangerously low. Sometimes feeling lazy can also mean running low on energy, and you can fix that by eating right.
Have a wholesome breakfast that is rich in protein and fats for a week, and you will notice a significant boost in your energy levels, and you’ll be less cranky during office meetings.
If you have gained a few extra pounds from sitting all day, taking herbal fermented liquids or Arishtam for weight loss can help you burn calories faster, especially when combined with exercise.
Sleep like a Monk
Lack of sleep is one of the main causes of laziness. If you work out in the gym, having at least 8 hours of sound sleep is crucial. If you are sleeping less than that, you are going to have trouble concentrating on your work or find yourself procrastinating your tasks.
If you have trouble sleeping, start sleeping like a monk. Designate a room for your sleep, and it should be free from electronic gadgets, books, or any potential distraction. And make sure the bedding isn’t too comfortable, or else it’ll make it difficult for you to get out of bed in the morning.
We hope these tips help you fight and defeat the lazy in you.
