Down slope on our side slope from the established echinacea plants, there's another little echinacea now blooming. It must be from the others self-seeding. I'm happy to see more echinacea flowering, since the bees and the butterflies love 'em!
More flowers have opened on out twice-blooming lilac bushes. The bushes have also put on some serious height.
One of our scraggly Lady of Shalott rose bushes currently has four blossoms on it. Considering the sorry state of the bushes themselves, I find that to be rather impressive.

Here's a close-up shot of one of our echinacea flowers, clearing showing the multiple individual flowers in the central disk. The pollinators, bees and butterflies, LOVE these flowers! So do I. Composites are cool!
I was able to snap a pic of a bee (digger bee?) resting on one of our echinacea flowers.
On second thought, I wonder if this was actually a perplexing bumblebee, Bombus perplexus. If so, that's really cool!
If that was the case, that means we have at least two different species of bumblebee in our yard.
We haz morning glories on our fence! Look at that deep color in these.
Speaking of our Lady of Shalott roses…I snapped a pic of the latest flower on one of the bushes. It's pretty much open now, certainly beyond just a bud.
Another tree I planted that took a hit due to the local problem deer — my rowan (mountain ash). Just when it started to spring back after being stripped almost bare, it began to get crowded out by woodbines and blackberries, so I moved it to between our Lady of Shalott roses.
I DID have two rowan saplings, but the deer completely destroyed the second and it never recovered.
I've photo proof that I've planted trees! I know it doesn't look like much, but my poor redbud has been through a lot. More than once, it was browsed down almost to the ground by a neighborhood whitetail doe. The problem doe is now dead, and the tree is finally putting on height.
