If you had to learn what the F keys on your computer do through me reblogging this post, then I'm glad you did. Computer literacy is not a skill that gets taught anymore, and it is absolutely one that needs to be taught in order to be learned. Don't ever feel bad for not knowing something, but ☝️ don't ever stop learning learning about your environment, the tools you use, and especially the people around you

It sounds like he's taking the piss, but he's being serious. Old TVs were... fuzzier isn't quite the right word, but it's close. They naturally warp their graphics in a very specific way. So game designers would make pixel art with is in mind.

This is one of the most obvious cases:

Also busting in to report that light guns (think the NES Zapper, SNES Super Scope, and in this man's case, likely a Sega Stunner) do not work on modern TV sets. It's the first thing any retro game store or online auction will mention when you want to buy a light gun. (Long story short, it relates to how screen refreshes and the light-sensing diode in the gun works. If you'd like, here's a Text Explanation and a Video Explanation.)
