With the LJ issues, I'd been worried about what might happen to the B-daman Community on LJ, but it looks like the moderator already archived it on DW!

I've been busy with other obsessions lately but I'm thinking of doing a rewatch soon.
I don't think we talk about this enough, but the Battle B-daman English dub is seriously a triumph of 2000s anime. A lot of the changes, big and small, are things that were common or required to change at the time to make anime palatable to western audiences, but this team used them to make the show better. Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but this is a dub written with a lot of love in it.
My fave example of this is like, you all know Gray's iconic monologue over his training with the bells? That's an addition in the dub because there was this belief at the time that silent scenes would cause children to lose interest. But they used it to do some extra character work for Gray while he's away from the main team.
Also never forget they let Steve Blum write his own character's mental breakdown episode. That's art.

I just think they are neat
Inuki. I have so many questions about your naming choice for Wen and Li's hometown.
Inuki Eiji has released his fifth Battle B-daman manga doujin! Fire of the Dragon tells the story of Wen, Li, and Kiba returning to their hometown Ryuyou (Longyang in the Chinese reading) immediately after the main events of the manga (not including the epilogue - all the other stories until now take place during).
This one's a fun one! We not only get to see their hometown in the mangaverse, but actually meet their families and learn their names! Also we get a plot reason why Wen's hair is short in the epilogue of the original manga.

An update on the new doujin!
Enjyu's surname is now confirmed. In the original tweet, Inuki said that a fan had suggested "Kounoki Enjyu" for his full name and he liked it but he wasn't sure if he could use it. The update states that he got in contact with the fan and has received permission to use it, so Enjyu's official surname is Kounoki.
Please note all of Inuki's doujin are all set in the manga-verse of Battle B-daman so it is possible for this doujin to reveal a backstory for Enjyu that may contradict the anime.
Bonus preview:
(Note it's a fairly common occurrence for Inuki to use fan suggestions, a number of characters and details that were added to B-daman canon via his website were actually submissions of OCs from fans.)
