Why are people so desperate to claim Bellatrix is apparently hot or attractive when all her features are described as dark and masculine (tall, dark hair, dark eyes, older) and she isn't described as feminine at all (petite, pale, blonde hair, young)? Voldemort would not be attracted to her because there's no reason for it. If anything Voldemort would be more likely to be attracted to Narcissa since she's paler and blonde (plus he wasn't abusive to her and never tried to kill her).

Mortal Temples Ch6: Sneak Peak

Draco’s name echoed through the house, amplified by a spell he’d grown used to only hearing at Hogwarts. Rather than the monotone voice announcing the beginning of supper or the upcoming Quidditch matches, the voice was unfamiliar and screamed with urgency, and that provided enough interest to lure Draco away from the warmth of his bedroom fireplace, where he had already settled in for the night with a book commandeered from the family library. Not being able to attend his final year at Hogwarts meant he would have to settle for educating himself. Someone needed to make use of the Malfoys’ centuries of book hoarding. 

The demanding echo for him continued. Draco huffed and grabbed his outer robe and wand, shouting out that he was coming and they could stop making a ruckus. But the voice didn’t stop until he reached the top of the stairs, and he raised an eyebrow to Selwyn. 

“What?”

“Time to make yourself useful. Get down here.”

“You can’t order me around in my own home.”

Selwyn gestured behind him, where two death eaters Draco had never seen before, only recognizable by the masks hanging loose at their chest, both nursed major injuries. One of the men was covered in deep lacerations, bleeding out into a puddle on the checkered marble flooring. The second cradled his hand against his chest, shards of bones jutting out  of torn skin. 

Draco slowly descended the stairs. “What exactly do you expect me to do?”

“Fix them.”

Selwyn stepped forwards although he intended to grab Draco, but Draco took a step out of reach. He shot Selwyn a disbelieving look, appalled at the audacity to dare touch him. He held onto his wand to dissuade further attempts. 

“I’m not a healer.”

“You’re the closest we have. Do something.”

Here is a simple step by step of a small still life study from last night ( about 1.5hrs ) 1- there are different ways to start but here I begin with my area of focus and paint outwards. 2 - I am constantly thinking about designing cool shapes/value/proportion relationships as I fill in the image. 3 - rough block in is like taking notes of fun ideas you can refine later. It also help with better decision making when you can see everything as a whole early. 4 - now I can push and pull interesting colors I observe up to this point, refine my edges and cut in smaller shape elements to my liking. “I – I’m sorry?” Her father stammered ashe looked up from his coffee.

“My big brother,” Sayu repeated, jawtense. “Had a nightmare. Last night. For the first time ever. I was up late and I heard him cry out – that’s never happenedbefore.”

The expression of guilt on her father’sface was enough to let her know something was going on. It wasn’t just acoincidence –not that she really thought it could have been. Disappearing fortwo months without saying goodbye? Apparently to aid an investigation? Only toreturn underweight, with unkempt hair and night terrors?

Right. “I’m sure he’s alright, Sayu, I’llmake sure to ask him about –“

“No,” She cut him off, her handsclenched into fists at her sides. “When I went to check on him, he was talkingin his sleep. Do you know what he said?”

“Sayu –“

“No, not Sayu.” She corrected quietly, eyes stinging. “He said ‘Dad, please,I’m not Kira. Please, don’t kill me.’”

That shut her father up for a goodminute.

“Light used to help me through mynightmares when I was a kid, you know. When you weren’t around.” Sayu turned on her heel, started out and then paused atthe doorway. “I don’t mind returning the favor– and I don’t know what happenedwhile you were both away, or why some bigshot detective thinks he might beKira, but I’m…never going to forgive you for this.”

She drew in a slow, stuttering breath.

“…even if he does.”

Which are your favirite fanfictions?

Silver Pard.

SILVER PARD THO. Please read Alternative and Oneiromancy at least but basically read everything from this person please. The best thing about Silver Pard in my opinion is how subtly and delicately they could describe the characters’ emotions, too good to be healthy anymore. Those above would very likely break you but if they do, read Adaptation. Good luck and take care. 

And then Phlegethon River. If you have been around me long enough and have a good memory you will recall a period where I could not shut up about Nilahxapiel. Well that period is not over. Please read Nilahxapiel. Her more well known fic would be Memento Mori and it does live up to the reputation and expectation. Nilahxapiel’s stories always have brilliant plot. Even her coffee shop AU is pleasant I have no word. Recommending everything she has written but especially The Scream.

There’s a collaboration between Nilahxapiel and Dante’s Muse called Spira Mirabilis. It’s unfortunately dropped but it is still a good read. By good I mean excellent. I wish more people knew about this AU.

This one, Second chances and the sequel Third time lucky by Spades 44 [ fairyunprincess ] . I did try my best not to swear until now but holy sh-t do I even need to talk more about this. No actually I had a complex relationship with this one very fic but it is incredible. Fantastic world building, interesting character development.

Last one. Putting this on the end just because I have a feeling I’m expected to list this first so I’m just gonna do the opposite lmao- sorry. Those who stand for nothing fall for anything by halfpromise [ youcannotrelight ]. This fic sent me straight to bed halfway of my first read for a good week and then constantly hammers my heart until the present point to make sure that I’ll never recover but I don’t want it to end. This is the end of me. The best story written in the first person point of view I have ever read, actually manages to exploit everything good from that. Very intense and realistic depiction of emotions that always feels like burning. Please read if you haven’t. Also recommending A Cure for Love.

I in fact have read I liked a lot of L/Light- (wait did I mention? this whole list is L/Light or very close to that) fics but these listed above are the ones that leave the most impact on me and I think I have spent an obscene amount of time to think about/ draw scenes from them (apart from Silver Pard- I don’t have the ability) and I regret nothing.
