sorryyy. ;u;
ch 18
i was trying to finish hw but i was too twitchy thinking abt this child so i drew him instead
“I don’t suppose it would be possible for you to let me borrow a pen?”
The young man looked like he had been cut out of his comfort zone, a mere shadowy silhouette living in its presence. Surely someone of his broadness could not be uncomfortable? But it was not his place to wonder.
“It will be returned, obviously.”
"A pen? Uh-- Let me check."
Leo paused to paw around in his pockets, getting gradually more nervous looking each time he came up empty. He was an office worker, he really should have a spare pen somewhere on him -- but, as was just his luck, he wasn't so sure he had one. In the end, what he managed to retrieve from his jacket pocket was not what the man had asked for, but he offered it anyway.
"W-Would a pencil work? Sorry."
Damn it. Did the stranger see her hit the sign? Probably. Now her leg was aching and she was left standing awkwardly next to said sign. “I’m… fine. Thanks for asking.”
"A-Are... Are you sure?" He didn't want to be a bother, but he couldn't help but feel worried, especially with the awkward way the girl was now standing. "That looked like it hurt."

"Oh— what?" It’s apparent that Harvey’s mind was far away from the real world. He isn’t thinking about something in particular, but instead losing himself in a trance.
"Yeah, sure." Is his final response, and he’s sure he was coming off as bothered, even if he really isn’t. "Here." His hand dug into his sweater pocket and nonchalantly held out the silver lighter. Gaze not moving from his prior mindset which was apparently right in front of him, he took a drag.
Leo can't quite shake the feeling that he's intruding even as the stranger gives him the lighter without any obvious hesitation. He doesn't sound irritated, exactly, but it's clear to Leo that the other had been deep in their own thoughts. It had been inconsiderate, in hindsight, to break that concentration.
"A-Ah... Thank you." Taking the lighter, he makes quick work of lighting his own cigarette before handing it back. "S-Sorry for bothering you. I-I didn't mean to, uh... be a bother..." Okay, he's still talking. If he really wants to avoid being bothersome, he should probably just turn and leave like a normal person, but...
“Did you want to come in?”
Her voice is soft as per usual, but noticeable enough as she speaks with a smile on her face and warmth in her words. It’s worth asking as she can’t blame whoever this is for pacing back and forth in front of the office, matchmaking and romance is intimidating and unapproachable for many people. Not only that, it’s making her a bit nervous and she’s put off going to see who exactly this was out of her own uncertainty.
Leo wastes no time in blushing profusely when he realizes he's been noticed. He had been hoping that he'd go undetected, but apparently he's been a lot more obvious than he realized. He quickly turns away, hand coming up to rub the back of his neck.
"O-Oh, uhm... No. No thank you. I-... I'm sorry for loitering. I-I was just..." Oof, this was just mortifying. This poor woman had gone out of her way to come out and check on him, and now he was rejecting her invitation to come inside? Sure, it was true that Leo really didn't want to go inside, wasn't nearly ready to take that kind of step with Amanda still so present in his heart, but he still feels irredeemably rude. "S-Sorry."
Ah, it was such a tired phrase. Certainly, everyone who left their house on a regular basis was sure to hear it at least once a week, but that made it no less annoying. It was no less annoying being constantly reminded how small he really was.
Kohaku snaps his head toward the source of the words, ready to dismiss the stranger in his typical angry fashion when he halts.
”—That’s. It’s not..”
Boy, oh boy, this guy was tall. “Holy shit.”
Why was this guy looking at him like that? Was he making some kind of weird expression? He'd been told that he could be pretty scary looking without meaning to, mostly due to his size, but the stranger didn't look frightened. Maybe Leo had just startled him? Or was he irritated that Leo had pointed out his struggle, maybe?
Embarrassed and not sure why, Leo took a few quick steps back. "I... Uh... S-Sorry? I'm sorry? I-I'm sure you have it under control...?"

"O-Oh, jeez -- Are you okay?"
"Nah, fam. It’s real, trust. And she didn’t just think she was a bunny, she started acting like one, too.”
"H...How did you manage that? D-Did... Did you hypnotize her, or something? That's so scary!"
”don’t worry, i know what i’m doing.”
no he doesn’t, please stop him before he breaks his neck.
"Are... Are you sure? That looks really dangerous...!" Leo can hear his voice getting embarrassingly loud in his fear, but he can't help himself.

That is definitely a knife. Granted, Leo knows there are plenty of perfectly plausible reasons for a girl to be carrying around a blade or two -- he gets it, he does -- but he can't help but feel hopefully nervous the moment he spots it. Oh dear...
