The Wolf and the Wizard 

Summary: the first ever Saoiriel interaction. Sorry it’s not proof read, and badly timed- I was trying to shove as many ideas as possible in while I was sleepy so pacing and coherency was the least of my concerns. My fine babe Daniel belongs to @syrooo hope you like this when you wake up my love, sorry if Daniel js OOC, I’ll probs edit when I’m less sleepy (that’s a lie)

“Fuck off, ya cailleach mhíthaitneamhach!” A girl screamed, “Imigh leat, a bhitch — téigh go hifreann.” Although Daniel couldn’t tell exactly what she was saying, it was clearly profanities muttered in…Irish? Oh yes- there had been a new Irish transfer student earlier that week, rumour had it she was Liam Calloway’s cousin. 

Daniel didn’t get a glimpse of her before she was dragged away by teachers, due to the large crowds causing congestion in the hallway as they watched the fight unfold. The person who was being fought was taken to the healers.

He was late to his next class but the teachers figured it was acceptable considering the hallways being blocked. 

“Mhm- that’s right love, can you go grab the milk for me?” Hummed Liam, stirring the batter as Cordelia went to go fetch the milk, 

“Listen, I don’t know what you want to know Daniel but stay away from my cousin.” Liam shot him a most uncharacteristically venomous look, “you’re a great guy but…she’s been through a lot. I can’t have her get hurt or harassed again. She’s already facing bullying in the corridors after what happened today. I won’t let her the subject to more cruelty.” the bowl was slammed down with unnecessary force. Cordelia raised an eyebrow and put a hand on Liams forearm. He pinched the bridge of his nose, 

“Sorry I just- everyone’s been asking me about her today. Asking where she is or her name or just- people want to heckle her, get a rise out of the ‘lunatic’. I don’t want them to have that satisfaction.”

“Calloway I do hope you aren’t implying I’d do anything of the sort?”

“Of course not. You’re great. I’d trust you with my life. I just don’t trust anyone with Saoirse right now.”

“Saoirse?” He tasted the name in his tongue, “Well at any rate, it isn’t of utmost importance to meet her- she just piqued my interest.” 

“Un-pique it. Besides, she’ll be gone in a year.” 

The silver haired boy took a walk on the grounds, book in hand and robe folded neatly under his arm because the summer breeze still lingered in the October crispness.

There was a girl, sat by the black lake- alone and seemingly out of place. Though she blended in with the leaves, which were turning orange at the tips, 

“Go away I don’t need y-.”she didn’t even glance up at him 

“Well that’s not a very polite conversation starter.” He stayed standing. 

“Oh- I thought you were-.”

“Liam?”

“How did you-.”

“He’s a friend.” 

Slowly, as if trying not to spook a skittish animal, he lowered himself to sit beside her. He noticed that she had a roll of bandages around her knuckles. She’d patched herself up alone-…

She finally glanced up at him and he could’ve sworn he felt his breath catch. Now, Daniel wasn’t usually the kind of man to go speechless upon first meeting someone, but how could he not be? 

Eyes green as the Irish moors on a misty morning, freckles dusting her cheeks, pouty pink lips, brows seemingly in a permanent furrow,

“What? Cat got your tongue pretty boy? Are you here to do anything or did you just come to stare?” She scoffed, used to being stared at already. 

“No I just-.” He held a hand out, “Let me help.” Maybe there was more to her than a screaming, kicking, flailing girl who screamed and got into fights. 

Despite her glare, she hesitantly banded over her bandages and placed her wrist in his hand. He noticed a littering of crescent shaped cuts on her palm, as if she’d been digging her nails into it…he didn’t comment on it.

“Is your knuckle alright, ma belle? Sometimes people use the wrong technique when fighting and injure themselves,”

“Ma belle?”

“Do you not like it?”

“No I just…didn’t expect it.”

They sat in silence for a handful of moments before he nodded to her tie,

“Slytherin huh?”

“Don’t even get me started on this schools stupid.” She tilted her head back with a long sigh. “I fucking hate these houses. Slytherin- what a stupid name. Pure blood supremacist? No thank you. From what I’ve seen, this whole house is just full of pompous brats. And then there’s the reds- chivalry my ass. And Ravenclaw is just insufferable know it alls-.”

“Insufferable? You seemed to be enjoying my company, ma belle.” 

In response, she couldn’t hold back a small smile. And oh…

She had fangs 

Little ones peeking over her lip. But when she caught him staring, her expression immediately hardened, her posture straightening.

“What? Are you one of those people who hate werewolves?” She recoiled ever so slightly. 

“No. Not at all. Quite the contrary, in fact.” He whispered, “Do it again.” 

“Do what?”

“Laugh.”

“At least buy me dinner first,” she scoffed, through a smile. 

And that’s how Daniel, the elusive, silver haired, sharp tongue pretty boy, somehow ended up wherever Saoirse O’Byrne was, despite her being a weird, angry, werewolf girl. Maybe opposites do attract

she tells him she loves him so quietly that he could pretend he didn’t hear it.

instead, he smiles, cups her face like she’s something impossibly precious, and kisses her.

One of my favourite things has honestly been how enthusiastic you’ve been about them. Usually I end up yapping into the void about my OCs, or the ship headcanons , so having someone match (or somehow exceed???) my energy has been such a nice surprise. It’s made creating them so much more fun. 💕💕💕

Summary: Just established Saoiriel fluff <3 

“Ma belle?”

“Yes Daniel?” Saoirse looked up from her homework, glancing at him through the stray curls that had escaped her braids, 

“My darling I was wondering if you’d like to accompany me tonight,”

“Where to?”

“The grounds. I hear from Amit that the stars are due to be beautiful tonight. And it should be pleasantly mild. I thought you’d like to go.”

“Are you asking me on a date, pretty boy?” She tilted her head, biting back a grin. Not really, she still made sure to flash a fang- watching him get all flustered and red, adjusting his collar as if he was hot- though it did little, as all it accomplished was revealing the numerous bite marks down his neck. But for all her cockiness, Saoirse just…had no idea what to do with a boy. Much less her mate. 

She’d always wanted to have one- someone who would accept her for what she was, that is. But obviously, Catholic Irish school. She could head Sister Mary Walsh, “One must always be able to keep a female pill between one’s knees, to ensure chastity before marriage, as the good lord Jesus, god bless, intended.” So she’d never had a boyfriend before. Never even held hands with one before immediately recoiling because it was sin. 

Then again, not many boys wanted to hold her hand after her accident in the moors, the one that left her with lycanthropy. Not that the muggles at her school knew what it was. They just saw a freak- a girl with unruly hair, tomboyish tendencies, a large claw mark scar across her face and sharp canines. They tried to pray it out of her. She shuddered at the memory,

“…Aye, I’d love to.” She said quietly, so uncharacteristic of her. Obviously, he’d been her mate for quite some time- but they only crossed the bridge of ‘we’re together’ when prompted by a classmate. They hadn’t known what they were before that, despite indulging frequently in things only expected of those in a committed relationship. 

Daniel collected her from her dormitory that night, offering his hand. She took it, clicking his knuckles and tracing his moles. She was extra fidgety today- the full moon was tomorrow, so it was expected for her to feel slightly more agitated. Though she didn’t feel that way with Daniel. Not even a little bit. She tucked her head under his arm, inhaling his scent. Her mate. It soothed her greatly. To the point where Daniel had taken to buying two bottles of his cologne, one for himself and one for her to leave at her bedside to smell in the event she missed him. 

“Ma belle?” He said gently, noticing she was zoning out. Whenever he said that, she acted up a little. Well, just whenever he spoke French to be vague. 

“Mhm?” 

“We’re nearly there.” He tugged her a little closer. Ever since discovering that he did, in fact, have a girlfriend, he’d been extra clingy and extra affectionate. 

“Come here, ma belle.” He called, after he’d run ahead to find a good spot. She sat beside him, leaning a little into him, her loose blouse whipping against her in the wind which made her shiver. Daniel, always observant, wrapped his arm around her shoulders so that his cloak draped over her. 

“Would you like to watch the stars, Mo ghrá?” Saoirse asked tentatively, taking off his glasses, “Handsome…”

“Hey, I need those-.” Though he reached back for them weakly, a smile cracking across his features, 

“Hmm…I’ll be close enough tonight that you won’t.” She pressed a little closer to him, just to get a reaction, not because she knew what she was doing. 

“Just lay down,” Daniel scoffed, gently guiding her to lay beside him in the grass to watch the stars. 

She seemed entranced by them. He seemed entranced by her. The way the moonlight caught her now loose curls, the way her chest rose and fell with every soft breath, the way her eyes held more stars than the sky. There could be the aurora borealis and he’d still prefer to gaze at it through the reflection of her eyes. 

She reached for his hand, lacing her fingers through his. Biting her lip, fangs on display.

She wasn’t watching the stars. No, she was looking at the moon. The one that would be full tomorrow. The moon was beautiful- but for her, it was yet another reminder that she was a monster. 

“I love you.” It left her lips before she could help it. If he didn’t feel the same, at least she’d said it so quietly he could pretend he hadn’t heard. She hoped he wouldn’t react, for the sake of her dignity. 

Instead, he rolled over to fully face her, caressing the cheek which showed her scar. The one she’d got on that night, nearly a decade ago. 

“You’re beautiful.” 

“Houl yer whisht.” The embarrassed mutter escaped her, even though she turned her face away into his palm. He couldn’t sworn the top of her hair flattened a little, like a dog flattening their ears when embarrassed. Cute.

His thumb came up to her bottom lip, peeling it down,

“There they are-…” the wonder in his voice would have convinced anyone listening that he’d seen something so ethereal that it was breathtaking 

“Who?” 

“Your fangs…”

“Daniel-.”

“Mon loupe- don’t say anything. I’m moments away from kissing them so just-.” He gave a shuddery exhale, 

“Is this ok?” 

“U-uh huh…”

“You said it so quietly…but don’t worry, ma belle, I can say it loud enough for the both of us.” 

He leaned in, finally, and kissed her. She surprisingly melted, the independent, strong, rough and tough girl dissolving into a girl in love, allowing her eyes to flutter shut, while Daniel’s piercing blue eyes remained trained on her, cupping her cheeks, 

“I love you, Saoirse.”

“Táim i ngrá leat, Dan, my mate.”

I HOPE I WROTE MY SEXY HUSBAND DANNY IN CHARACTER!!!! If he doesn’t escape the screen and make out with me I’m just gonna cry I need him to be real actually

Cherry Pop x Arkham Knight Summary: Cherry was messing around with things she wasn’t supposed to, as usual. And instead of heading home to find her boyfriend- she finds this universes less friendly version of him… @amethystandemma

I groaned in pain, my head thumping from where it had hit the side walk. I’d literally told Flash not to try and run while I had sweaty palms! We were trying to get to a crime scene and he’d grabbed my hand so we could both get there faster and my hand slipped out his grips.

Apparently, I was still in Gotham- my suit all wet from landing in a puddle. Just great. I brushed myself off, scowling, arms crossed as I walked down the grimy streets, boots clicking.

A newspaper tumbled towards me and I instinctively picked it up. But it didn’t make sense. It said the author was Mara Laurie. I’d never written this. I’d remember an article on ‘the Arkham knight’.

But there was something off about it. On every single paper, the Mara Laurie was circled in red with the bold words ‘ACE OF HEARTS’ scrawled messily over the writing so I couldn’t see the article.

what the hell was going on?…

Whatever.

I was more on edge now, so I kept my fingers tight around my garatte wire, just in case.

Now that I thought about it, Gotham looked…different.

There were more less people, a larger military presence…what the hell was happening?

I wandered to my apartment, sighing and chucking the keys into the bowl on the table by the door. Except it wasn’t there and my keys clattered to the ground.

Maybe Jason had a nervous breakdown and started reorganising everything?

He wasn’t on patrol tonight so he was probably- hopefully- asleep.

But he wasn’t. He was with some girl. I didn’t see her face but she was wearing a heart themed costume- like some sick mix between Harley Quinn’s colour scheme and personality and the Joker’s weird card motif. Her hair fell in wavy red and bleached blind streaks.

I stood there in the doorway, mortified,

“Jason what the *fuck*?!” I screamed, confused and shocked and hurt. But he looked different too. There was a J scar on his cheekbone that had never been there before.

before I knew it, he had pulled a gun on me, fired a warning shot millimetres from my head,

“Who the fuck are you?!”

“Jason it’s Mara?!” He looked just as confused as I did,

The girl looked confused now too. And then I realised something. She looked identical to me…costume and hair aside our features were exactly the same, and my brows furrowed further,

“How the hell do you know my identity?” Hissed Jason, before firing another shot, “Answer me.”

“Wait wait wait put the gun down for two seconds while I try and figure something out ok?” My voice came out more shrill than I intended, “Listen, listen- I just- I have no idea what’s going on- I was with Flash and- and we were going to solve a crime downtown and he was running and I let go of his hand and I-.” Slowly, almost embarrassingly slowly, it dawned on me. “Shit. Fucking shitting holy mother of-.” My hands balled into fists and I tugged at my hair, “You’re- you’re me!” I pointed at the girl.

“Listen lady, the hell y’a talkin’ about? Maybe ya should sit down- y’a look a little…” she grimaced a little at the end to demonstrate how bad it seemed. “Maybe y’a hit yer head a lil when y’a fell?”

“No no- you don’t get it- when speedster’s travel they- all the atoms and molecules or whatever align and- what I’m saying is that I ended up in another universe! You’re me! Except you aren’t Cherry- what or who-.”

“Ace a’ hearts- what’s it to you lady? You new in town?”

“Why d’ya talk like that?” I raised an eyebrow. She sounded like Harley.

I noticed Jason’s thumb was still rubbing circles on her hip,

His other hand was still on his gun. And he had an itchy trigger finger,

“Lady if you’re just gon stand there, criticise me n’ be an eyesore you can j’st fuck off so I can keep making out with my boyfriend.” She scoffed. Ok- rude.

“Hm. Together in every universe, I suppose.”

“The hell is that meant to mean?” Jason growled,

“Well- in my universe, I’m dating my universe’s version of you. Jason Todd, the Red Hood.” I smiled fondly, “And here? If you tel are together, that makes me quite happy I guess.”

I turned to leave. I got to the front door before Jason was stood behind me, gun pressed to the back of my head. He was alone. Ace of Hearts was still in the bedroom.

“I cant let you leave. Not if you know my identity.”

“What…what happened here? In my universe you’re so- you just aren’t like…this.”

“Shut up.”

“Let me help you. I’ve- I’ve always felt guilty. About what my father did to you in my universe. I was a child and couldn’t stop him but that’s no excuse. But here I might be able to help you, save you, do some good I just.”

“I said shut up!”

He grabbed my neck, thick, large hand squeezing slightly and holding me up against a wall. My feet flailed slightly, not touching the floor-

“J-Jason-.” My fingers scrambled to get purchase on his hand, clawing at him to let go as tears welled in my eyes

With all the strength I could muster, I kicked him in the chest. It didn’t do much considering his body armour. But it caught him off guard enough for me to catch my breath.

“Cherry!”

Red hood entered, bursting through the window.

Both Jason’s looked at eachother. Then back at me. Then eachother.

“S-See? I’m not crazy- I was telling the truth.”

Red Hood and Arkham knight had each other at gunpoint.

“Listen. I’m just trying to get my girlfriend back to our universe.” He was side stepping towards me, his gaze never leaving Arkham Knight’s. He grabbed my hand tight,

“Jason I wanna stay-.” “Baby we don’t have time for this- come on- Flash is waiting for us outside so we can go home-.”

“I just wanna- please. They need my help and I-.”

“Now is not the time to play martyr!”

“Jason I can’t.” I couldn’t. I had an obligation. I had failed to save my Jason. The least I could do was save this one.

“Just- just put the gun down Arkham. We can just talk-.”

And Arkham Knight? He’d had Cherry for a day and a half but if anyone hurt her he’d kill everyone in the room and then himself. He was still loyal to his girlfriend. Ace of hearts. *His* Mara. But this Mara was softer, sweeter, less malnourished- he didn’t feel bad for nearly killing her. He felt it was necessary. And he’d do it again if she proved to be a threat. But for now she was just a girl. Some girl who was another universes version of his girlfriend.

Cherry slept on the couch that night. Well, not really. Arkham Knight had been in a meeting and the pink glad girl had been sat on the floor by his feet, as she didn’t have a chair, and fell asleep with her head on his thigh and his hand in her hair.

He’d carried her back himself, setting her on the couch and tucking her in.

“Love you Jay-.” She yawned- sleepy and half conscious and confused, mistaking him for her Jason. His breath caught and he tucked her hair behind her ear, kissing the top of her head lightly and letting a blanket rest over her shoulders.

Him and his Mara hadn’t said that yet- both too emotionally constipated to accept the vulnerability- even if they did love eachother. They’d kill for eachother, die for eachother. But would they live for eachother, like Cherry and Red Hood did? Maybe that was the last step.

He crawled in bed with his girlfriend, slightly more affectionate for a man who would inevitably leave in the morning, to the point where ace would roll over and the sheets would be already cold

in which…Joel and Sloane finally get a taste of domesticity.

A/N: just some fluff before I go sleepies. Yes I used the same border twice- deal with it, I don’t have time or energy to make another. Sorry for the angst at the end Xx

sometimes, when light spilled just right through the curtains over the plaid bedspread, I could close my eyes and imagine. The apocalypse never happened. After work one day, maybe after parents evening, I’d talk to Joel and we’d go out- have a drink or two- stumble back to his place, start dating. By now we might have kids. Hell, Sarah would be a grownup and might have kids of her own.

I’d reach my hands across the blankets and make jokes about taking our trash and breakfast and taxes or whatever people used to joke about back then. Even I was starting to forget.

But quiet mornings in Jackson, I let myself believe that, just for a few moments.

Joel was still fast asleep, snoring slightly- spottling of salt and pepper hair on his chest visible beneath the sheets, his warmth leeching into my skin. My fingers found their way to his jaw, as they so often did, and he nuzzled into my palm without stirring.

Silently, I crawled out of bed, slipping on the discarded clothes from last night. Sometimes I thought me and Joel were too old for such things, but he’d always find a way to get me blushing like a teenager again.

I stood in the kitchen, making two coffees- his straight black coffee, mine with a splash of vanilla and milk because we were out of sweeteners.

“You’re up early, sugar.” A gruff voice said into my neck, large, veined hands enclosed around my waist- both of our torsos having gone a bit soft with age. He scraped his scraggly beard against my skin, peppering it with kisses, “C’m back ta bed darlin’- ‘s too early f’this.” He groaned. Neither of us had patrol for another 3 hours so we had the luxury of indulgence this morning.

“What are ya even up to?” I laughed, smiling and not yet looking,

“‘ppriciating my wife.”

I turned around in his arms as I let the hot water boil on the stove. Damn he looked good. Tightly fitted grey shirt and blue plaid pyjama bottoms. Great find. A find that looked great on him specifically. His arms straining against the tight sleeves…oh I wanted to slut that senior citizen out every day of the week.
