An annoying but overall well meaning woman in my physio class today wouldn’t shut up the whole class and I could tell everyones nerves were getting worked.

She’s the interrupt you to say something helpful type but the problem is she is VERY Long Winded. And a bit cluelessly rude. Crass.

Mindful of her telling me about her mental health the other week, I was initially patient but even I finally was getting sick of her shit towards the end.

Then she said she looooves ChatGPT. Uses it all the time and at one point said “me and chat were laughing so hard about it! I know you might think that’s strange! But we were!!”

you would assume she’s joking but these days I ain’t so sure.

And now my desire to avoid her is heightened.

one thing that i have come to learn about people and weight/how they see it. is how clueless they are about how vastly different we all are.

i can't tell you how many times people have referred to other people in a specific way that applies to me, but they think it doesn't. they say it innocuously, in passing but it pings a light in my head.

like my pal the other day said she went out with a guy who became depressed and he gained a lot of weight, he ended up being "really big" per her words. and she said he was 6ft something and weighed over x kgs.

and i had to fight the urge to tell her i weigh far more than that. cuz i know her concept of weight is vastly different to mine. she's a relatively slim woman in her 40s, one who struggles with a 10-20lb gain with age. lol. my kingdom for that now.

and she wasn't saying this in a twisted way to try to make me feel bad. she's just clueless. i didn't want to put her on the spot by going lol i'm WELL over that at 5'5. there's no denying i am fat, i ain't trying to. but i feel people hear numbers and immediately think "well i am x, so y amount must be monstrous!"

It was wild cuz when she told me his height and supposed weight, i thought to myself..that's..not big for a 6ft guy. at all. that is anywhere between slim. or at least slim muscular and a pinch of paunch. my partner is 6'3 and he's about that weight. he's not "big" at all.

hell i'm pretty sure our personal trainer at the gym will weigh a good bit more than that as a healthy muscular man in the 6s too. and by healthy muscular i mean has a bit of fat on him too not dehydrated and trying to look like wolverine.

but then there i am making assumptions too. that said. i make that assumption having been obsessed with this stuff for years and looking at people of same height weight/vastly different body compositions.

all this is to say if someone says shit like that and you feel a tinge of insecurity/discomfort etc i'd ignore it cuz nobody fucking knows what they're talking about.
