B.A.P’s Jongup Signs Exclusive Contract With New Agency + Shares Plans For Solo Album

B.A.P’s Jongup has signed on with The Groove Company!

On November 21, The Groove Company announced, “We’ve signed an exclusive contract with Jongup recently. We will be giving him our total support to make sure Jongup can show his talents in many more places.”

They continued to add, “Jongup has unlimited potential when it comes to dancing, singing, producing, and many other areas, so we’re happy to be signing an exclusive contact with him. Please give Jongup your love and anticipation as he grows as a solo artist.”

Through the agency, Jongup said, “I am greeting you as solo artist Jongup. I hope to greet you in the future in a variety of ways through music, performances, and acting. I want to thank the fans who have always believed in me and waited for me.”

Jongup is currently preparing his first solo album through The Groove Company, with it set to drop next March. He plans to stay in touch with fans through a variety of contents other than new music as well.

Jongup first made his debut as a member of B.A.P in 2012, and parted ways with TS Entertainment earlier this year after the end of his contract. He recently appeared on the AOMG show “Sign Here,” with his appearance airing this September, and impressed with his performance.

Sleepy: I didn’t get paid for ten years and couldn’t even maintain a living. I did advertising on my social media because it was the only way for me to survive.

Song Jieun: I was not paid correctly for all my work, and I had my exclusive contract rights transferred to a third party without my consent.

Hyosung: I haven’t been paid since 2015. I sued for my contract to be deemed invalid and after winning my court case, TS said they would file another lawsuit as I ‘tarnished their reputation’

Sumin and Nahyun: we wanted to keep working with sonamoo but we weren’t making a living wage. We were being threatened with our water and power being shut off and being kicked out of the dorms, so we had to file a lawsuit.

BAP: we were overworked to the point of needing to get IV drips. We did over 50 concerts and made TS millions but only got $500 a month. We were in a dorm that was way too small for us, with only one bedroom and three bunk beds for six of us.

Taeseon and Wooyeop: we were overworked, having to practice from 5 am to 5 pm everyday and were unable to go to school so often that we’re all now two years behind. We were not provided food, and the water and power in our dorms got cut off. Appliances also broke and the agency did nothing, so we had to have our parents to either pay new ones or fix what broke. We were abused and one of us was even hit with a metal chair by a choreographer. All of us were born in either 2000 or 2001 and we debuted in 2017, so none of us are even 20 yet.
