Last but NOT Least! Week #15
How will I employ these as a writer?
The most important things to have in mind when it comes to ethos, are accuracy and credible information.
In the section of about me, my information needs to be precise and honest. For example, I can’t over exaggerate things putting that I was a secret agent of the CIA. I need to provide credible information such as my education, my real birth place and things that make the reader believe what he/she is reading. To provide enough information lets the reader know that the person writing it is actually me.
In the section of reflection assignments, ethos will take place when I can demonstrate that I am the author of the assignment I am describing and ensuring that the assignment made are correct and accurate.
In the reading reflection section, for it to have ethos I will put the name of the book and briefly describe it to give the audience an idea of the theme of the book and also for them to look for it by their own.
Pathos is known as the emotional appeal.
In the section of about me, I can narrate experiences, events of my life that had contributed to who I am and what I want to be. For example, when I put my desired major, I can put event and things that influenced me to end up with that decision.
In reflection assignment area, I will describe detailed the emotions I went through when doing each of the assignments. The things I learned and the issues I faced that made me struggle. For instance, if I make the audience to feel my experience they way I did, they will get more involved in the website.
I think the reading reflection section is the hardest section to put pathos in it. I will try to put pathos in it by describing the knowledge the reading gave me and how did it change my way of see things relating to the readings.
Logos is the logic of the information, the facts with proof.
For the section of about me I will need to be specific and provide proof. I can put real pictures of me or of anything that I am talking about in the section. That will be an excellent proof for the reader.
In the assignment reflection section I can put the actual work that I did or the instruction of it just to enhance and highlight the importance and the difficulty level of the assignment. For me to show the assignment will be a prove that I indeed did it and finished it.
For the reading reflection section I can apply logos in it by maybe providing facts of the book reader like the author’s information, how successful was the book, and how this helped me to become a better reader.
How will I employ these as a designer?
I think its depending on each person the way a website looks nice but is important to keep in mind the organization of it.
I will apply ethos on each of my sections by having a good presentation, no grammar errors, and formal vocabulary. This three things will add credibility to the website and will give confidence to the audience that the website is a good site.
To use pathos as a designer is not a complicated thing. For example if I put a sad event in my about me section, there are negative colors, pictures, videos, that can add emotions to the text on the website. I need to select the adequate background, pictures and colors depending of what I am going to be talking about.
For logos, the basic thing is organization. The first part of your website is the most important because is the one that decided if the audience keeps scrolling on the website or decides to close it. The homepage needs to be clear, simple but you need to be careful that it won’t be boring and flat. Also I need to put my citations and make sure that the resources of them are reliable and not a webpage that no one knows.
Finally we are done with this post and with tumblr!!
Hey Good Job on your post!! I think you did a really good job on your approach for ethos, logos and pathos. I liked how you went into detail on what is the most important for each section. Im pretty sure that your website is going to come out awesome and organized. Good luck!
