there are >200 angler species and most are under 10cm, even the largest are nowhere near that size. Pretty much every deep sea fish is smaller than you’d think not larger

it blows my mind when people are surprised to hear that one of my pets are still alive when they’re just…well within their natural lifespans.

“wow your pleco is almost 8 years old?” yeah they live to be over 20 “wow your cat is 19?” yeah a cat can live to be over 20 “wow your budgie is 9?” yeah a budgie can live to be over 15

people are so used to animals not living out their lifespans because of the culture of animals being seen as disposable, fun accessories. I can’t blame people raised in this mindset, it’s a cultural thing that needs to change.
